[2025] ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH BIRMINGHAM CITY UNIVERSITY - UNITED KINGDOM, SECOND INTAKE 2025
University of Information Technology - VNUHCM announces the admission for the bachelor's degree program in collaboration with Birmingham City University - United Kingdom (degree awarded by Birmingham City University) in 2025 as follows:
1. Majors and Quotas:
- Computer Science: 15 slots.
- Computer Networks and Information Security: 30 slots.
2. Admission Targets and Registration Conditions
2.1. Target Group 1: Study duration of 3.5 years (7 semesters)
- Applicants must have graduated from high school or equivalent and participate in both phases (7 semesters).
- Foreign language proficiency requirements:
+ Minimum IELTS 5.5, or an equivalent international English certificate, or a Level 4 (B2) English certificate according to the Vietnamese 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework, or an English proficiency equivalent to B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
+ Applicants without the aforementioned English certificates will be considered for provisional admission. If admitted and enrolled, students must take an English placement test organized by the University in coordination with reputable English training units/centers/schools. Based on the test results, students achieving a standard equivalent to IELTS 5.5 will study alongside officially admitted students, but their academic results will only be recognized after they obtain the required English proficiency certificate to be transferred to official status. Provisionally admitted students must self-study English or attend English enhancement classes organized by the University. They must meet the English proficiency requirement within a maximum of 12 months from the date of the admission decision. After this period, students who fail to meet the English requirement will be dismissed from the program.
- Exemptions from the English proficiency requirement:
+ Graduates with a bachelor's degree or higher in English Language from a Vietnamese higher education institution, with proficiency determined according to the Vietnamese 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework.
+ Graduates with a bachelor's degree or higher from a foreign higher education institution for students who graduated from full-time programs abroad.
2.2. Target Group 2: Study the final 2 semesters, including one of the following:
- Applicants who have graduated from high school and hold a Level 5 HND (UK Higher National Diploma level 5) or equivalent in majors/specializations such as Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Software Development, Network Engineering, Computer Networks, Data Analysis, Data Science, Information Security, Intelligent Systems, Application Development.
- Applicants holding an Associate Degree from universities/colleges in Vietnam or internationally (equivalent to a Level 5 HND) in a major/specialization relevant to the admission majors.
- Applicants who have completed the first 2 years of the High-Quality/Advanced/Standard program at the University of Information Technology - VNU-HCM.
- Foreign language proficiency requirements:
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency conditions:
+ Minimum IELTS 6.0 (with no skill below 5.5).
+ Level 4 English proficiency according to the Vietnamese 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework AND a BCU EPT 6.0 certificate (with no skill below 5.5) issued by Birmingham City University - UK.
+ Level 4 English proficiency (score 7.0, with no skill below 6.0) according to the Vietnamese 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework.
