UIT and VNGGames Sign Co-Training Partnership in Game Development:
Pioneering High-Quality Talent for the Digital Era

On the morning of April 2, the University of Information Technology – VNU-HCM (UIT) officially signed a cooperation agreement with VNGGames to co-develop a Game Development Program on the Roblox platform. The event marks a significant milestone in strengthening university–industry collaboration in the technology sector.

The ceremony welcomed distinguished representatives from the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, VNU-HCM, VNGGames, Roblox Global, and UIT leadership.

Building a “Hands-on” Game Development Ecosystem

Under the agreement, UIT and VNGGames will implement a series of key initiatives, most notably a co-training program in game development on Roblox, with support from the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information.

As a strategic partner, Roblox will not only provide its technology platform but also contribute to shaping a creative ecosystem for young game developers in Vietnam.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Acting Rector of UIT, emphasized:
“The game industry today is not merely entertainment—it is a high-value creative industry contributing significantly to the digital economy and national innovation ecosystem. The demand for high-quality human resources—those who are technically proficient, creative, market-aware, and globally oriented—is increasingly urgent. This collaboration represents a strategic commitment between academia and industry to build a practice-oriented training ecosystem.”

Expanding Opportunities for UIT Students

The program is designed with a strong practical orientation, closely aligned with real-world game development processes on the Roblox platform. Students will receive mentorship, technical guidance, and industry insights from Roblox experts throughout their learning journey.

By the end of the program, each student team will complete and publish their own game on Roblox—gaining direct access to a global developer ecosystem and international market opportunities.

This initiative builds upon the successful collaboration between UIT and VNGGames, including the pilot course launched in September 2025, which engaged over 50 students in hands-on game development training.

A Collaborative Model for the Future of Game Industry Talent

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director General of the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, highlighted the importance of a tripartite collaboration model:

• Government: Establishing policies and fostering the innovation ecosystem
• Universities: Providing foundational knowledge and core skills
• Industry: Delivering practical environments and real-world applications

The event also featured a panel discussion titled “From Student to Creator: Pathways into the Game Industry and the Global Creative Economy,” offering valuable insights into career development in the gaming sector.

Additionally, VNGGames awarded 10 scholarships to outstanding UIT students in recognition of their academic excellence and contributions to research and innovation.

This partnership marks not only a new chapter in UIT–VNGGames collaboration but also a long-term commitment to developing high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s game industry and digital economy.
