#UITGoGlobal 🌏 UIT Students Continue the “Red Journey” in China – Tracing the Forbidden City & Embracing Modern Rhythms
As part of its long-term development strategy, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) identifies “Global Reach” as a key priority to enhance education quality, research capacity, and international integration. In alignment with this vision, the University of Information Technology (UIT) continues to expand international learning, exchange, and experiential programs, enabling students to engage with multicultural academic environments and gain practical experience.
Continuing the journey, the fourth day of the 2026 “Red Journey” in China offered a multidimensional experience, blending historical depth with the dynamics of modern life.
Exploring History – The Legacy of the Forbidden City
During the day, UIT students visited the Forbidden City—an iconic imperial complex that served as the political center of China for nearly 500 years. Its grand architecture and well-preserved historical traces provided students with a vivid perspective on the development and transformations of a significant historical era.
Notably, details such as ancient fire-prevention water vats—once gilded but later stripped of their gold during historical upheavals—stood as powerful symbols of the passage of time. These experiences not only enriched students’ historical awareness but also strengthened their ability to approach cultural and social values from multiple perspectives.
Broadening Perspectives – Connecting with Modern Academia and Urban Life
On the journey to Beijing, the delegation observed major urban landmarks such as Tiananmen Square and passed by Beijing Foreign Studies University—one of China’s leading institutions in languages and international studies. These insights helped students better understand global education environments and the development of internationally oriented human resources.
In the afternoon, the group continued to Shijiazhuang by train. Beyond transportation, this experience offered insights into modern infrastructure systems—an essential factor in connecting economic and cultural centers and driving national development.
Advancing the “Global Reach” Vision
The experiences of the fourth day further broadened students’ knowledge, sharpened their observational thinking, and strengthened their adaptability in international environments. Through academic activities, site visits, and real-world exposure, UIT students continue to enhance their global competencies and readiness for international academic and professional settings.
Aligned with the “Global Reach” strategy of VNU-HCM and UIT, the “Red Journey” is not only an academic program but also a journey of personal growth. Each destination becomes an open classroom, where students learn to see the world more broadly, deeply, and from multiple perspectives. Each historical story serves as inspiration, helping the younger generation better understand their responsibilities in both the present and the future.
The journey continues with many upcoming activities, promising even richer experiences while further showcasing UIT students as dynamic, confident, and ready to thrive on the global stage.
