On the morning of June 5, at the University of Information Technology (UIT), VNU-HCM, a meeting took place between representatives of NVIDIA Vietnam and UIT to discuss future collaborations in training and research. The focus includes joint research projects, developing specialized courses for students, and creating talent development programs that encourage innovative and creative thinking among students.
Participants from NVIDIA Vietnam included Mr. Vu Manh Cuong - Managing Director of NVIDIA Vietnam, and Mr. Tran Minh Quan - Technology Development Engineer.
The UIT delegation was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan – Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Duy – Head of Graduated Training & Science and Technology, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Nam – Head of External Relations, Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Nguyen Minh Son – Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Dr. Le Kim Hung – Head of the Communication Department, Faculty of Computer Networks & Communications, MSc. Le Thanh Trong – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Software Engineering, and MSc. Do Van Tien - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science.
NVIDIA Vietnam expressed their desire to collaborate with UIT in training high-quality human resources for AI and the semiconductor industry.
During the meeting, representatives from NVIDIA Vietnam presented a plan to develop AI talent by providing AI materials and technology services such as cloud computing to students. NVIDIA also shared information about their "Deep Learning Institute" program, which offers intensive courses equipping students with the latest skills and knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related fields.
The course materials consist of six parts, and NVIDIA will provide these to UIT for free. This initiative offers learning opportunities for students and represents an investment in the future of Vietnam's IT workforce. Additionally, NVIDIA aims to inspire students' creativity through AI, helping them develop new approaches and solutions.
The UIT delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan, welcomed the NVIDIA Vietnam team.
Furthermore, NVIDIA and UIT discussed strategic collaboration opportunities, such as developing joint research projects utilizing NVIDIA's advanced technology and the university’s academic expertise. Organizing events, workshops, or hackathons will create a dynamic interaction environment with the tech community, fostering innovation and creativity among students.
The collaborative meeting between NVIDIA Vietnam and UIT marks an important initial step towards significant future partnerships, creating learning opportunities for UIT students. The meeting concluded in a positive and open atmosphere, promising many benefits for both parties and contributing positively to the development of Vietnam's tech community.
