Over 40 UIT Teams Compete in the “Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Challenge”

The Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Academic Competition, organized by the Department of Information Security – Faculty of Computer Networks and Communications, University of Information Technology (UIT), has officially closed its registration round with impressive figures:

Nearly 100 students, from freshmen to seniors passionate about Cybersecurity and AI, are ready to take on the intellectual challenge.
More than 40 teams have been formed and are set to compete in the official contest day on September 27, 2025.

Participants will engage in tasks such as data analysis and AI model development for cyberattack detection, competing online on Kaggle with a real-time public leaderboard updating scores throughout the contest.

COMPETITION OBJECTIVES

Inspire research enthusiasm and creativity among students passionate about Information Security and Artificial Intelligence.
Create a professional academic platform for students to apply AI models to real-world intrusion detection (IDS) problems.
Discover, nurture, and connect young talents in the field of Cybersecurity & AI.

COMPETITION FORMAT

Each team will receive a simulated cyberattack dataset.

Tasks include:

Analyzing the dataset and developing machine learning or deep learning models for effective cyberattack detection.
Submitting predictions on Kaggle, where scores will be automatically calculated based on accuracy and F1-score metrics.
Real-time leaderboard updates will track the teams’ progress throughout the competition.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to current UIT students (VNU-HCM).
Each team may include up to 4 members.
Participants are encouraged to have basic knowledge of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data processing skills.
