Pham Tien Duong, a final-year student at University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City, was born into a financially struggling family, where the burdens of life fell heavily on the shoulders of his single mother. "My story may be just a grain of sand in this vast world. However, I hope I can inspire current students to strive for their own future and that of their families," Duong conveyed to his fellow young learners.
Understanding the family circumstances, Duong devoted all his efforts to his studies, hoping for a chance to escape from difficult conditions. Throughout 12 years of education, with his personal efforts and determination, he never missed a year without receiving the Excellent Student Certificate. Eventually, he successfully passed the University entrance exam with outstanding scores.
Duong shared, "I remember the most from the Spring Volunteer Campaign in 2021, I learned a lot about team management, organization, built new relationships, gained more confidence on the university campus, and was happy to help many small children in remote areas have a warm Tet holiday." In recognition of his efforts, he received the Academic Encouragement Scholarship from the university as well as a full scholarship from the Ho Chi Minh City National University Development Fund. He also received the "Igniting Green Dreams" scholarship twice from Binh Duong Television Station.
Furthermore, Duong recently had a scientific paper published at the ISDA International Conference in 2023 and is currently involved in four research projects funded by the university. This young man has also been honored with the title of "Advanced Youth Following President Ho Chi Minh in 2021."
