UIT NewsUIT and ROSENXT Group Explore Collaboration in Education, Research, and Technology Development
On September 16, 2026, University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) welcomed representatives from ROSENXT Group for a working session to explore potential collaboration in education, research, and technology development. The meeting also discussed opportunities for UIT students and faculty members to engage in internships, recruitment programs, and real-world R&D projects.ROSENXT Group is a global technology group focused on researching and developing advanced solutions for fields that demand high levels of engineering expertise, safety, and reliable operation in complex environments. Its technology portfolio spans sensors, autonomous robotics, artificial intelligence, non-destructive testing, and underwater systems – areas that offer significant potential for collaboration with UIT’s strengths in education and research. Connecting UIT’s research strengths with ROSENXT Group’s R&D needsRepresenting UIT at the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Dinh Duy, Head of the Office of Science, Technology, External Relations and Postgraduate Affairs, together with representatives from the University’s faculties, laboratories, and specialized units.Representing ROSENXT Group were Mr. Dirk Van Vinckenroye, CEO Creation, ROSENXT Group; Mr. Sebastian Mueller, Chief Technology Officer; along with representatives from ROSENXT Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. and other members of the delegation.During the meeting, ROSENXT Group representatives introduced the Group’s strategic directions and capabilities in technology research and development. ROSENXT works on a range of complex engineering challenges, including non-destructive testing technologies, marine robotics, autonomous underwater vehicles, and sensor data analytics.Addressing these challenges requires the integration of multiple technology domains, including artificial intelligence, software development, robotics, computer vision, simulation, and data processing. These areas also closely align with the education and research capabilities being developed at UIT, creating potential for future collaboration between the two sides. Bringing real-world technology challenges into education and researchOne of the key topics discussed was the possibility of directly connecting ROSENXT Group’s real-world technology challenges with education and research activities at UIT.Rather than limiting collaboration to internships or graduate recruitment, ROSENXT Group expressed interest in working with the University to develop projects based on actual industry needs, giving students opportunities to engage with and contribute to solving technology challenges while they are still studying. This approach could pave the way for deeper forms of collaboration, ranging from student research topics, capstone projects, and technology projects to joint research involving industry experts, UIT faculty members, and the University’s research teams.Through such experiences, students would not only strengthen their professional knowledge but also gain a better understanding of how real-world challenges are identified, investigated, and transformed into technological solutions. For ROSENXT Group, building early connections with the university environment also creates opportunities to engage with emerging technology talent and research teams whose expertise aligns with the Group’s ongoing R&D priorities. From UIT laboratories to real-world technology challengesAs part of the working session, the ROSENXT Group delegation visited UIT’s Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Laboratory (ASIC Lab) and Multimedia Communications Laboratory (MMLab). At the laboratories, UIT representatives introduced their research directions, expertise, research teams, and selected technology products and prototypes currently under development. The ROSENXT delegation also engaged directly with UIT researchers to explore how the University’s existing capabilities could connect with the Group’s research and development needs. The laboratory visits enabled both sides to identify more specific areas with potential for future collaboration, particularly in artificial intelligence, computer vision, data processing, embedded systems, integrated circuit design, and intelligent systems. These fields could contribute to a wide range of technology challenges of interest to ROSENXT Group, from sensor data acquisition and analytics to the development of systems capable of observing, recognizing, and processing information under complex operating conditions. Expanding collaboration with a global technology groupBuilding on ROSENXT Group’s real-world technology needs and UIT’s strengths in education and research, both sides expect the ideas discussed during the meeting to gradually develop into suitable programs and collaborative projects.Future collaboration is envisioned as a connection between education, research, and real-world technology needs. This could create more opportunities for UIT students to gain exposure to an international technology environment, participate in R&D projects, and better prepare for their future careers. At the same time, it could enable UIT faculty members, laboratories, and research teams to apply their expertise to technology challenges with practical potential.Strengthening connections with ROSENXT Group also aligns with UIT’s efforts to expand its network of collaboration with technology companies and global corporations. Through these partnerships, cooperation can extend beyond internships and recruitment toward research, technology development, and joint projects – creating more opportunities for UIT faculty members and students to apply and further develop their capabilities through real-world challenges.
