University of Information Technology Strengthens Educational Cooperation and Expands Learning Opportunities for Cambodian StudentsFrom 8 to 12 July 2026, a delegation from the University of Information Technology (UIT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of UIT, participated in VNU-HCM's official mission to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The UIT delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Duc Khai, Head of the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs; Dr. Do Trong Hop, Vice Dean in Charge of the Faculty of Software Engineering; and Mr. Truong Quoc Dung, M.A., Deputy Head of the Office of Communications and Admissions.The mission formed part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening educational cooperation between VNU-HCM and Cambodian partners, with participation from University of Economics and Law (UEL), University of Information Technology (UIT), and University of Health Sciences (UHS). Through academic workshops, institutional meetings, and scholarly exchanges, the delegation expanded international partnerships, promoted collaboration in education and research, and contributed to the development of a highly skilled workforce, while reinforcing UIT's role in advancing VNU-HCM's internationalization strategy.Strengthening Academic Partnerships and Advancing Technology CollaborationAt Chenla University, UIT delegation participated in a range of academic activities, including professional exchanges and serving on the thesis evaluation committee for undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology. Faculty members and experts from both institutions shared experiences in curriculum development, innovative teaching methodologies, research supervision, and strategies for cultivating technology talent in the era of digital transformation.The delegation also met with the leadership of Chenla University and the Faculty of Information Technology to discuss future directions for collaboration in education, research, and the development of international academic programs. During the meeting, Chenla University shared its vision for expanding programs in Information Technology, Law, and Economics, while expressing strong interest in learning from UIT's experience in curriculum development, educational resource sharing, joint academic programs, and collaborative research initiatives.Showcasing UIT's Academic Ecosystem and International Opportunities for Cambodian StudentsAs part of the Education Cooperation Promotion Workshop, UIT introduced its academic and research strengths in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, Computer Networks, and Data Communications. The University also highlighted its innovation ecosystem and achievements in educating high-quality technology professionals.UIT presented a wide range of opportunities available to Cambodian students, including student exchange programs, international Summer Camps integrating academic and cultural experiences, short-term courses on AI applications, degree programs offered in both English and Vietnamese, online learning opportunities, and various scholarship schemes designed for international students. The workshop attracted significant interest from Chenla University students, who actively engaged in discussions on admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, learning environments, internship placements, and career prospects after graduation. UIT also introduced its academic advising model, comprehensive international student support services, and extensive industry partnership network, demonstrating how students are equipped with both professional expertise and practical career skills.During the discussions, both institutions explored opportunities to jointly develop academic programs, share course offerings, co-supervise students, organize seminars and international scientific conferences, and establish collaborative research groups in emerging technology fields. Through direct engagement with provincial authorities, UIT aims to broaden cooperation in developing high-quality information technology professionals, contributing to Cambodia's digital transformation agenda and the growth of its knowledge-based economy.Expanding Cooperation with Cambodian Provincial AuthoritiesIn addition to activities at Chenla University, the delegation held official meetings with leaders of Kampong Chhnang, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Siem Reap provinces.The discussions focused on human resource development, educational opportunities, and scholarship programs for Cambodian students. The parties also exchanged views on potential cooperation in higher education, digital transformation, scientific research, and knowledge transfer to support the socio-economic development of each province. This mission not only expanded the University of Information Technology's international partnership network but also reaffirmed UIT's leadership in promoting global educational cooperation, developing high-quality technology talent, strengthening academic exchange, and contributing to digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development across the ASEAN region.Towards a Sustainable and Long-term PartnershipAt the conclusion of the mission, the University of Information Technology and Chenla University agreed to continue close communication and establish a roadmap for implementing collaborative activities through the end of 2026. Priority areas include student and faculty exchange programs, academic seminars, short-term training courses, joint research projects, and the gradual completion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying a solid foundation for a sustainable long-term partnership between the two institutions.This mission not only expanded the University of Information Technology's international partnership network but also reaffirmed UIT's leadership in promoting global educational cooperation, developing high-quality technology talent, strengthening academic exchange, and contributing to digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development across the ASEAN region.
