UIT collaborates with Axon Active Vietnam to organize the course 'IT Project Deployment with Scrum 2023.'

The course "IT Project Deployment with Scrum 2023" took place over four days from October 30, 2023, to November 2, 2023, in Room E10.1, University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM. The course serves as a bridge to bring students closer to practical knowledge about IT and Scrum, opening up job opportunities in domestic and international enterprises.

This annual course at UIT aims to promote collaboration between UIT and businesses to enhance the effectiveness of scientific and technological activities. Additionally, the course plays a crucial role in providing knowledge and practical skills for implementing real-world IT projects to students.

This year's course attracted 50 students from the faculties of Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Science and Engineering of the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM, and three students from the University of Finance - Marketing. It introduced a new feature by extending the class model to students from other universities who were interested in participating.

With 53 students attending the course, they had the opportunity to learn and exchange ideas with leading lecturers in the field of information system training and implementation using Scrum. Ngoc Tran, a student participating in the course, expressed, "After completing the 4-day Scrum course, it helped broaden my vision. I had the opportunity to learn more about Scrum, Agile, Kanban, etc. Moreover, this course gave me the chance to practice by applying the knowledge to real projects. Afterward, I realized that using Scrum can help us work more efficiently through transparent planning, checking after each sprint, and adapting to new changes."

Students enthusiastically exchanged knowledge during the course, creating a dynamic learning environment. Accumulating more knowledge about Scrum and applying it in real-life situations is the desire of most students attending the course. Phuoc Thien shared, "I joined this course with the desire to consolidate my knowledge of Scrum and apply the theory to understand how it operates. Besides, I want to apply this knowledge to real projects at the university. Finally, I hope to obtain a certificate to enhance my CV."

The practical course brought many benefits to students. Talking about the positive impacts of the course, Dr. Cao Thi Nhan, Deputy Head of the Department of Information Systems, said, "Students learned how to deploy a real IT project to achieve high efficiency and satisfy customer expectations. The Scrum approach helped students understand the advantages of developing information systems using Scrum, as well as supporting techniques to complete projects successfully. Furthermore, applying Scrum helps students change their mindset positively, manage personal activities well, and support effective teamwork. In addition, being guided by Scrum experts from businesses helped students clearly see the importance of the theoretical foundation taught in university and how to apply it to implement real projects, as well as understand what additional knowledge and skills need to be supplemented to meet the requirements of businesses quickly."

Through the program, students had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, and skills, and received a certificate of completion from Axon Active Vietnam. This opens up more job opportunities at domestic and international enterprises.
