In recognition of exceptional achievements in academics, scientific research, and scholarly activities, the University of Information Technology (UIT), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), held a ceremony on June 2, 2026, to honor recipients of the UIT Advanced Scholarship and the UIT Honors Challenge Awards. The event not only celebrated students’ outstanding accomplishments but also promoted a spirit of academic excellence and inspired students to continuously pursue new heights of knowledge.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan, Ph.D., Vice President of UIT; Cao Thi Nhan, Ph.D., Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information Systems; Le Ngo Thuc Vi, M.A., Head of the Office of Special Programs, along with representatives from faculties and departments and the students receiving awards and scholarships.
In her remarks, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan congratulated the award recipients and acknowledged their perseverance and dedication throughout their academic and research journeys. She emphasized that these achievements are not only the result of individual talent and hard work, but also reflect the spirit of lifelong learning, resilience, and the aspiration to pursue excellence among UIT students. She further encouraged them to continue serving as role models and to inspire future generations by sharing their knowledge and experiences.
Representatives of the honored students expressed their sincere gratitude to the University, faculty members, and supporting units for their continuous encouragement and guidance. They noted that their accomplishments were made possible not only by personal efforts but also by the dynamic academic environment at UIT, which provides students with opportunities to develop both professional expertise and research capabilities.
During the ceremony, the University awarded 10 UIT Advanced Scholarships to students with outstanding academic performance and achievements. Among them were two Category A scholarships, four Category B scholarships, and four Category C scholarships.
In addition, 20 students received the UIT Honors Challenge Awards. In the Computer Science program, awards were presented to 11 students, including one Grand Prize, one Category A award, three Category B awards, and six Category C awards. In the Information Security program, nine students were recognized, including one Grand Prize, one Category A award, three Category B awards, and four Category C awards.
Over the past five years, the total value of scholarships and awards granted through these programs has reached VND 4.7 billion, demonstrating UIT’s strong commitment to nurturing talent and fostering academic excellence.
These impressive figures reflect not only the University’s educational quality but also the dedication, perseverance, and growing capabilities of students enrolled in the special academic programs. Each scholarship and award represents well-deserved recognition of students’ relentless efforts in their pursuit of knowledge.
The ceremony concluded with the bright smiles and proud achievements of the honorees, leaving a meaningful impression and motivating the broader UIT student community to continue learning, conducting research, and pursuing innovation.
