#UITGoGlobal - TECHNOLOGY, MARINE ECOSYSTEMS AND THE SPIRIT OF GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

As part of the AUN Summer Camp 2026 in Indonesia, students from the University of Information Technology (UIT) – VNU-HCM recently completed a series of academic and field research activities at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Indonesia. epresenting UIT at the program were Nguyen Van Minh – a Computer Science student and Vice President of the UIT Student Association, along with Tang Kim Son – an Information Systems student. The journey provided students with opportunities to explore environmental and sustainability issues through an interdisciplinary perspective connecting technology, marine science, and global social responsibility.
At the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, students participated in academic sessions on marine microorganisms, biodiversity, and sustainable aquaculture models. Beyond classroom discussions, the delegation conducted field observations, explored aquaculture areas, and learned about Fish Meal Replacement processes — an alternative solution aimed at promoting sustainable fisheries while reducing environmental impact. These practical experiences enabled technology students to gain broader insights into the role of science and innovation in addressing global challenges related to resources, environmental sustainability, and food security.

The program continued with field visits to the Mangrove Conservation Area and Fish Booster Centre in Surabaya. The coastal ecosystem provided students with a deeper understanding of the importance of mangrove forests in climate adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and maintaining ecological balance.Through research activities and academic exchanges, UIT students were introduced to international conservation and aquaculture development models. These experiences also opened new perspectives on how technology can contribute to sustainable development solutions in the future.
Beyond academic knowledge, the program fostered intercultural exchange and professional networking among students from universities across the AUN network. The proactive spirit, adaptability, and openness demonstrated by UIT students reflected the image of a new generation of Vietnamese youth: globally connected, socially responsible, and ready to contribute to international communities.
