#UITGoGlobal 🌏 UIT Students Continue the “Red Journey” in China with Meaningful Experiences

March 26, 2026, Continuing the series of activities under the 2026 “Red Study and Research Journey for Vietnamese Youth in China,” the second day of the delegation from the University of Information Technology – VNU-HCM (UIT) unfolded with a rich blend of historical depth and international academic engagement.
Exploring History – The Essence of the “Red Journey”
The day began with a thematic seminar titled “Ho Chi Minh in China,” delivered by Professor Hu Xianzhong. The session provided students with deeper insights into President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary path during his time in China—from a patriotic young man to a great national leader and an outstanding diplomat.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited President Ho Chi Minh’s former residence in Kunming. The site preserves valuable documents, images, and artifacts that vividly reflect his life and revolutionary activities. It also stands as a testament to the enduring friendship between Vietnam and China, cultivated across generations.
This stop is regarded as the “heart” of the Red Journey, fostering historical awareness, nurturing national pride, and inspiring a sense of responsibility among the younger generation to preserve and promote traditional values.
The delegation also visited Southwest Associated University, a historic institution closely linked to the period of resistance against Japanese occupation. The campus reflects a harmonious blend of memorial spaces, classical lecture halls, and modern architecture—embodying the patriotic intellectual spirit and “red legacy” within academia.

Expanding Horizons – Strengthening International Academic Connections
The “Red Journey” will continue with a range of experiential activities, cultural exchanges, and academic networking opportunities in the coming days. UIT students are expected to participate in Vietnam–China youth dialogue forums and visit educational institutions and technology centers, broadening their perspectives in an international environment.
These experiences not only enhance academic knowledge but also develop soft skills, adaptability, and global thinking.
A participating student shared: “The first day in Kunming was truly meaningful. Through the seminar, we gained deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh’s journey to seek national independence, as well as the historical values and Vietnam–China friendship. Visiting the memorial site allowed us to connect directly with these important historical traces. These experiences strengthen our national pride and confidence in international integration.”

Advancing the Vision of Global Integration
Aligned with its strategic vision of “Going Global,” UIT continues to expand opportunities for students to engage with international academic and cultural environments. Programs like the “Red Journey” are not only academic endeavors but also transformative experiences that help students grow and prepare for global study and work environments.
Each journey marks a step forward, each experience builds a foundation—contributing to UIT’s growing presence within regional and global education networks.
