May 18, 2019 – The annual NET Day 2019, hosted by the Computer Networks & Communications Faculty, took place for the second time at the University of Information Technology (UIT). On the Day, 7 unique and remarkable workshops in computer networks, communications and information security were NET Talk, NET Share, NET Party, NET Challenge, NET Show, NET Interview and NET Tour. The NET Day 2019 attracted over 400 students to attend.
In order to maximize students’ attention and anticipation to the NET Day 2019, The Organization Board invited attendees, experts, representatives from industry, speakers, and alumni in the Computer Networks & Communications sector to talk about relevant and interesting issues like modern technology, trends of network technology in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
Attending at the Day were Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice President; Associate Prof. Dr. Le Trung Quan, Dean of Computer Networks & Communications Faculty, and the Head of NET Day 2019’s Organization Board; company sponsors, experts, research teams, alumni and students.
In the modern life, computer networks and communications plays an important role as an IT infrastructure in connecting the whole of IT and serves social activities.

In a speech to mark the opening, Associate Prof. Dr. Le Trung Quan - Head of the Organization Board said about drastic changes in the modern computer network technology. Dr. Quan emphasized that these changes played a key role in the IT evolution. He expressed his gratitude to all cooperation, practical and meaningful contributions from the Faculty’s partners to shorten the gap between training and business.

to open the Day
The NET Day 2019 started with the NET Talk workshop which attracted more than 400 students. At the workshop, experts talked about latest technology and technique as well as trend of computer networks and communications and the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
In the NET Share workshop, representatives from companies answered questions relating to the labor market and jobs, researches in AI, Data Science to help the students relieve their concerns and draw their interests. NET Share became a forum where students could interact, exchange their opinions, and future job’s orientation to the guests and the other students at the workshop. In the NET Interview workshop, the company representatives informed the attendees job opportunities and offered job interviews. Additionally, business guests and speakers offered scholarships and beneficial courses to students.
In the event area, the Organization Board exhibited 20 innovative, scientific products made by students and enterprises. The products could be counted like firefighter robots, smart homes, smart car parking systems, smart aquariums, and smart gardens. The attendees could experience virtual reality, environmental monitoring, etc. NET Show was the workshop for the authors to reach potential customers in the fastest way, and promote the spirit of scientific research in the student-wide.
The highlighted moment during the event was the Finale Round of an academic competition. The competition was aimed at searching for talented students in the field of designing and solving problems on computer networks. 6 outstanding teams to join in the NET Challenge were classified as Junior and Senior. The final results came after intense, dramatic and challenging competitions, Donahitech and AnLe teams won the First Prize as the Senior and the Junior respectively.
Besides the other 6 activities, NET Tour gave the guests and the students more understanding about UIT’s technical infrastructure which was the Datacenter Room.
NET Day 2019 is an annual event hosted by the Computer Network & Communication Faculty. This year's event has had changes: larger in scale, more diversified in activities. The NET Day 2019 networked UIT – Enterprises – Students in a way that UIT’s training program becomes increasingly updated to meet the enterprises’ needs; students have access to hands-on knowledge and modern technology, latest technique is being applied to well prepare their expertise, better skill-set, and quickly meet businesses’ requirements.
