January 15, 2019 in the morning - The University of Information Technology (UIT) and Citynow Company (Citynow) jointly organized the Opening Ceremony of Citynow Research and Development Lab - UIT (R&D Lab). The Lab is the second office on UIT Campus which is responsible for the following: research and develop technologies in accordance with Citynow’s strategic directions; propose and implement research topics in accordance with its research orientation and UIT’s strong points; contribute to socio-economic development when the country bring scientific and technological advances together.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh – UIT’s President believed that the establishment of the R&D Lab would be a step forward that UIT accessed the Japan’s market – a Vietnam’s strong partner. President Tu Anh also emphasized that the R&D Lab would help the students approach Japanese workplace’s the environment more quickly, effectively so that they would be integrated into the Japanese culture. She also revealed a plan in which a Japanese space would be built at the UIT’s campus.

Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan - Head of R&D Lab said that the Lab would be currently implementing topics on Blockchain, document and image processing techniques into projects. The projects were to manage and operate smart cities, real estate in Hawaii.

“This place will offer opportunities to UIT’s students to live in the Japanese environment, get inspired, and learn many things from Citynow’s talented and enthusiastic leaders. Besides, it will help UIT become a top university in Southeast Asia in the near future,” emphasized Dr. Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan.

Mr. Phan Tuan Tai – Citynow’s Director said, the company would be accompanied with UIT to join in other activities, build human resources, develop technology and IT field.
