On the afternoon of October 25, 2023, at the VNU-HCM Headquarters, a seminar titled "Enhancing the Innovative Capacity of Talented Students at VNU-HCM" took place. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Tam, Vice Chancellor of VNU-HCM, attended the seminar.

The seminar aimed to promote the application of new models and solutions in training and scientific research management, supporting talented students in unleashing their creativity, exploring research topics, and applying active and modern learning methods. This initiative is designed to train talented students to meet the increasingly high demands of society in the context of integration and proactive adaptation.
VNU-HCM also assists students in developing innovative and creative capabilities, fostering habits of building and implementing new ideas in studying, researching, and practical activities such as internships and real-world projects. This approach encourages students to flexibly apply their skills and knowledge through research projects, scientific research topics, entrepreneurial endeavors, and creative idea competitions.
During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dương Tôn Thái Dương, Deputy Director of the Training Department at VNU-HCM, presented a report on the project "Selection and Development of Talented Students at VNU-HCM for the period 2023-2027." The project aims to implement policies to attract and select outstanding candidates by integrating multiple criteria to comprehensively evaluate candidates' professional excellence, capabilities, and attitudes in line with the university's talent training goals and the country's overall development.
Additionally, the project designs and operates internationally oriented training programs that preserve the unique identity of VNU-HCM. It focuses on interdisciplinary and specialized interdisciplinary trends, integrating various research areas into the teaching and learning process for talented students. The project also promotes the creation of an academic environment that supports self-discovery and the exploration of new knowledge, encouraging the free exchange of ideas and respecting diverse opinions. Through these efforts, the project aims to develop high-quality human resources, ready to contribute to the country's international integration and modernization.
At the seminar, representatives from the University of Technology presented a report on "Enhancing Innovative Capacity for Students: Insights from Modern Training Practices." Assoc. Prof. Huỳnh Thanh Công, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology at VNU-HCM, introduced the topic "Innovation in Scientific Research."
During the event, participants discussed the outcomes of innovative initiatives implemented within their units, the challenges faced during implementation, and proposed models and organizational methods to enhance the innovative capacity of talented students in training and scientific research.
