There set to have more internet cables

TTO- Internet service providers (ISP) from Vietnam are setting to build and put into the operation of new international fiber optic submarine cables to increase the capacity, and gradually reduce dependence on optic cable AAG, IA

According to a Viettel’s representative, in April, Viettel sets to operate a new undersea cable system, named AAE-1, connecting to Asian – African, and European countries. Viettel has successfully installed a shore station in Vung Tau, and ready to ensure a well operation after its partner completed necessary connection.

Viettel continue to add capacity to cache systems, while researching, deploying popular data storage systems such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Verizon, Akamai, etc. in order to save capacity, preventing an indirect connection to international servers backwards.

Meanwhile, VNPT VinaPhone considered more investment and construction of international cables.

It is expected that by 2020, VNPT VinaPhone sets to exploit and invest 6 international undersea and grounded cable systems. At the same time, it will continue to sign agreements with other international partners, set up servers, store datas in an IDC of VNPT.

Several undersea fiber optic cable breaks causes slow internet connection over several months.

At present, AAG and Inter-Asia (IA) have encountered problems, and remained unsolved, affecting the internet connection to outside Vietnam.

This problem is the second to AAG and the third to IA from 2017, and time for reparation is up to 50 days.
