UIT Allocates Dedicated Admission Quota for International Students for the First Time in 2026
In its official announcement for the 2026 regular undergraduate admissions cycle, the University of Information Technology – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) has, for the first time, introduced a dedicated admission quota for international students. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the University’s strategy of international integration and the development of a multicultural academic environment.
Notably, in 2026 UIT will, for the first time, admit international students to its Software Engineering program—one of the University’s flagship disciplines, recognized for its strong practical orientation and high workforce demand in the digital era.
According to the announcement, UIT will implement its 2026 admissions through two primary pathways:
-
Method 1: Direct admission in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
-
Method 2: Comprehensive evaluation (holistic review) — a method consistently applied by UIT over the years to assess applicants’ overall competencies and development potential.
The expansion of international admissions not only reaffirms UIT’s academic reputation and training quality but also contributes to building a global student community. It creates valuable opportunities for academic exchange and for students to strengthen their intercultural competencies in the context of digital transformation.
Prospective students and parents are encouraged to follow UIT’s official communication channels for detailed updates on admission quotas, eligibility criteria, and key timelines for the 2026 admissions cycle.
