UIT Students’ Holistic Development: Highlights from Student Movements and Community Contributions in 2025
In its mission to develop high-quality human resources in information technology, the University of Information Technology (UIT), Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), consistently places students at the center of all development strategies. The year 2025 marked another period of notable achievements, as UIT students not only demonstrated strong academic capabilities but also made comprehensive contributions through student movements, community engagement, and academic competitions.
Student Movements: A Foundation for Leadership and Youth Engagement
Throughout 2025, youth union and student association activities at UIT were implemented in a systematic, effective, and in-depth manner. The University Youth Union organized 32 key activities, achieving 100% of the planned targets, with 85% exceeding expectations. These results reflected the proactive spirit, creativity, and increasingly professional organizational capacity of UIT students.
In the academic arena, UIT students continued to make a strong impression by actively participating in national Olympic competitions, achieving a 100% participation and performance rate. These achievements affirmed the quality of the University’s training programs and the competitiveness of its students in prestigious academic platforms. Beyond academic excellence, these outcomes also highlighted UIT’s dynamic learning environment, where students are encouraged to challenge themselves and continuously expand their knowledge.
In parallel, a wide range of cultural, sports, and soft-skills activities were organized throughout the academic year, contributing to a vibrant student life and ensuring a healthy balance between academic study and personal development.

Community Engagement: Spreading Humanitarian Values and Technological Knowledge
Alongside academic pursuits and student movements, UIT students in 2025 left a strong mark through volunteer activities, social welfare initiatives, and the transfer of information technology knowledge to the community. These programs were implemented on an expanding scale, with practical content and tangible impact.
Notably, in 2025, the University of Information Technology organized four voluntary blood donation campaigns, attracting a large number of student participants and demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility and compassion.
In addition, the University’s 2025 Green Summer Campaign continued to make a significant impact as its scope was further expanded. Volunteer student teams were deployed to various localities, where they carried out practical activities such as supporting the construction and renovation of local infrastructure, and organizing basic IT and life-skills classes for children and students.
In particular, initiatives that leveraged UIT’s strengths in information technology to serve the community were further intensified. In 2025, the University donated 13 computer sets to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing to narrowing the digital divide and enabling greater access to knowledge in the digital era.

Affirming the Pioneering Role of UIT Youth
With 100% of university-level youth projects completed on schedule, along with six out of five city-level and national-level coordinated programs achieved (equivalent to 120% of the planned targets), youth union work and student movements at UIT in 2025 continued to affirm their pioneering and leading role within VNU-HCM.
Overall, all youth union targets for 2025 were comprehensively fulfilled, with an average performance rate of approximately 130% of the plan. These results not only reflected the dynamism, creativity, and dedication of UIT students but also demonstrated the University’s well-structured investment and clear strategic orientation in building a holistic educational environment.
As UIT moves into its next stages of development, its students are expected to further uphold their proactive spirit, creativity, and sense of social responsibility, contributing to the image of the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM, as an institution that nurtures generations of young intellectuals who are professionally competent, resilient in character, and ready to contribute to national development in the digital era.
