UIT's talented student team is ready to conquer the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024

The team of students from University of Information Technology (UIT) is ready for the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024 finals taking place from February 29 to March 3 in Hanoi.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious programming competitions for students. Organized for over 50 years, the competition is an opportunity for technology students to showcase creativity, hone soft skills, and enhance their knowledge and software programming capabilities.

In 2024, Vietnam continues the honor of hosting the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship. From the ICPC Regional rounds, 5 championship teams were selected (from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Indonesia), along with 60 highest-ranked teams in the region chosen by ICPC Asia Pacific to compete in the Championship in Hanoi. From here, the top 16 outstanding teams will represent Asia Pacific in the global ICPC finals in Kazakhstan in September 2024.

Representing UIT, the team of students majoring in Computer Science from the Talent Program, including Le Nhat Huy, Vo Minh Quan, and Huynh Dang Vinh Hien, will officially start with the expectation of bringing achievements to the university. In the previous ICPC Asia Hue City competition in 2023, UIT.HHQ.SilverBullet surpassed 125 teams, securing the 22nd place in Asia (11th in Vietnam) and receiving the 3rd prize overall. Carrying the name UIT.HHQ.SilverBullet, all three young men continue to affirm their desire for victory and the aspiration to break through strongly like an unstoppable silver bullet at the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship finals.

"The ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024" is a large-scale competition in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together many excellent teams from technological countries such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore. Therefore, we have carefully prepared for this competition. Reasonable training plans, strong mental attitude, and determination to give our best for the pride of UIT-ers are our motto for the competition," affirmed Vo Minh Quan.

Before the competition, Nhat Huy, Minh Quan, and Vinh Hien all prepared, focused, and seriously trained under the dedicated guidance of UIT teachers. They carefully reviewed the competition strategy and summarized the experiences from previous limitations. Family, teachers, and friends are ready to be the strongest support, helping these talented young men remain confident and achieve the most stable mental state and best performance.

The ICPC Asia-Pacific Championship 2024 competition will be played on an internationally standardized system operated by ICPC Japan, connecting with Vietnam's VNOJ monitoring system.

The ICPC competition is increasingly attracting students and growing in the number of participating teams worldwide. The finals are divided into continents, and the ICPC Asia-Pacific region is further divided into Asia East, Asia West, and Asia Pacific.

Only 2 more days, the ICPC Asia Pacific Championship 2024 finals will officially kick off. Wishing Nhat Huy, Minh Quan, and Vinh Hien strong performances, steadfast spirits, and the best results!
