On the morning of February 3rd, at Dormitory Area B of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), the university organized a Departure Ceremony for the Spring Journey bus and a gathering for students celebrating Tet away from home in the Year of the Tiger 2024.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan - chancellor of VNU-HCM, stated that the program aims to support students who, for various reasons, could not afford tickets to return home for Tet.
The bus will transport 231 students and laborers with difficult circumstances through 17 provinces and cities, covering two main routes. The Central route includes the provinces of Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa. The Central Highlands route passes through the provinces of Dak Nong, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai.
VNU-HCM also provided tickets for 12 students to return to various provinces such as Kon Tum, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau.
"I hope this is a journey of love and connection. Along this journey, you will have the opportunity to sit down and share with each other about your student life. And when you return home, reunited with your loved ones, you will have a warm spring season with your family," Director Vu Hai Quan conveyed.
On this occasion,VNU-HCM also organized a gathering and distributed gifts to 225 students celebrating Tet away from home, including 81 resident students at the dormitory.
