To equip its administrative staff with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively apply artificial intelligence in their professional duties, the University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) organized the 2026 “AI Applications for Administrative Staff” training program for staff members across the University.
Held over two days, July 28–29, 2026, the program adopted a practice-oriented approach designed to help participants progressively develop proficiency in generative AI tools and integrate them effectively into their daily work. The curriculum was tailored to the practical needs of university administrative staff, combining foundational concepts with scenario-based exercises that allowed participants to apply AI directly to common workplace tasks.
During the first session, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of generative AI, effective prompt engineering techniques, AI-assisted workflows, and key principles for generating accurate and reliable outputs. The program also provided practical guidance on using AI for document drafting, summarization, translation, and workflow development.

The second session focused on applying AI to a broader range of professional tasks, including information retrieval and verification, data analysis and processing, planning, idea generation, presentation development, and slide design. Each topic was linked to real-world scenarios in a university environment, enabling participants to translate newly acquired skills directly into their day-to-day responsibilities.

A key highlight of the program was a series of hands-on exercises tailored to different areas of administrative work. Participants used AI tools to develop prompts, analyze datasets, identify data errors, plan events, draft documents, and create presentations. Through these practical activities, participants not only strengthened their ability to work effectively with AI but also developed greater awareness of information verification, data security, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The training program provided UIT’s administrative staff with both practical AI skills and a stronger understanding of how to use these technologies effectively, responsibly, and with due attention to information accuracy. The initiative forms part of UIT’s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation in university administration and to develop a digitally capable workforce ready to adapt to evolving demands for innovation and development.
