On the afternoon of October 9, 2026, University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (UIT) welcomed a delegation from the Hungarian Workers’ Party for a visit to the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Laboratory (ASIC Lab). The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to learn about UIT’s research, education, and technological development activities in the field of integrated circuit design.
Welcoming the Hungarian Workers’ Party delegation
The delegation was led by Mr. Gyula Thürmer, President of the Hungarian Workers’ Party, accompanied by Mr. Sándor Zsolt Kőszegi, Head of Economic Policy, and Ms. Éva Edina Simon, Head of Education.
Representing UIT were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Lung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of UIT, and Dr. Nguyen Minh Son, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Head of ASIC Lab.

Exploring semiconductor research and education at UIT
During the visit, UIT representatives introduced the laboratory’s facilities, research activities, educational programs, and development directions in integrated circuit design.
The delegation gained insights into UIT’s specialized research environment and its efforts to integrate academic education with scientific research and practical technological development.
Through the introduction of ASIC Lab, visitors also learned about the University’s approach to developing expertise in semiconductor technologies, an increasingly important field in the global technology landscape.

Strengthening international understanding through academic exchange
The visit provided an opportunity for the Hungarian Workers’ Party delegation to gain a better understanding of UIT’s research and education environment, particularly its activities in semiconductor and integrated circuit technologies.
It also allowed UIT to showcase its academic expertise, research infrastructure, and ongoing efforts to connect education with technological innovation.
Through international visits and academic exchanges, UIT continues to introduce its research capabilities to international visitors while promoting connections and mutual understanding in science, technology, and higher education.
