#UITGoGlobal 🌏 UIT Students Continue the “Red Study and Research Journey” in Shijiazhuang: Expanding Perspectives, Connecting Global Knowledge As part of the 2026 “Red Study and Research Journey for Vietnamese Youth in China,” the delegation of lecturers and students from the University of Information Technology – VNU-HCM (UIT), led by Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Lung, had a meaningful and insightful day in Shijiazhuang City (Hebei Province, China). The journey not only continued its historical foundation but also expanded into practical and modern academic experiences, enabling UIT students to engage more deeply with the dynamics of global development. From Theory to Practice – Exploring a World-Class Logistics HubA key highlight of the day was the visit to Shijiazhuang International Inland Port—one of China’s major railway logistics centers. Spanning approximately 15 km², the port operates as a modern logistics ecosystem, integrating smart warehousing, customs services, cross-border e-commerce, and supply chain finance.Notably, the integration of a Type-B bonded logistics center with a dedicated inspection zone for imported grain, along with railway tracks directly connected to the bonded area, has significantly optimized operations—saving approximately 100–200 RMB per container. This serves as a clear example of how technology and management enhance economic efficiency in real-world logistics systems. In addition, the China–Europe freight railway network, connecting over 40–50 countries, plays a crucial role in bringing goods from Hebei to global markets. Freight trains transporting hundreds of tons of agricultural products—including cassava starch from Vietnam—can now complete the journey in just 3–5 days, compared to around 15 days by sea. This highlights the strategic importance of logistics infrastructure in facilitating international trade. For UIT students, this was a valuable opportunity to engage directly with real-world systems, where knowledge of information systems, management, and technology is applied at a global scale.Real-World Experience – A Multidimensional View of Sustainable DevelopmentContinuing the program, the delegation explored a model of modern rural development in Shijiazhuang. The well-planned environment, balancing economic growth with environmental protection, provided students with practical insights into sustainable development—one of the key challenges of the modern world. These experiences helped students understand that development is not only about economic growth, but also about achieving long-term balance between people, society, and the environment.Technology Experience – Inspiring InnovationUIT delegation also visited Hebei University of Science and Technology, where students observed demonstrations by an award-winning aeromodelling team.Models such as F3K gliders, built with advanced carbon fiber materials and capable of stable flight without engines through precise control and airflow optimization, offered impressive examples of the intersection between scientific knowledge and real-world application.Additionally, modern laboratories, 3D printing systems, and research facilities at the university showcased strong investment in innovation and research capacity—key factors in developing high-quality human resources.Academic Dialogue – Inspiring the Next GenerationAt Hebei University of Chinese Medicine, the delegation participated in academic discussions on youth development and a forum on “Scientific and Technological Innovation – Green Development.”In an open and collaborative academic setting, UIT students engaged with Chinese peers in group discussions, sharing perspectives on the role of youth in driving innovation and sustainable development.Notably, a presentation by Luong Dac Nguyen, a UIT student, on the application of artificial intelligence in renewable energy left a strong impression and opened up potential opportunities for collaboration in green technology between students of both countries. These exchanges not only demonstrated knowledge and critical thinking but also highlighted the proactiveness, confidence, and global mindset of UIT students.Sharing his experience, Thien Phu, a student from the Faculty of Information Systems, stated:“What impressed me most was witnessing how a large-scale logistics system operates in reality. It made me realize that what we are learning can be applied globally. Participating in discussions with international students also helped me become more confident. I understand that global integration requires not only knowledge but also an open mindset and strong communication skills.”Spreading the Value of the “Red Journey” in a Globalized EraThe “Red Study and Research Journey” goes beyond historical exploration—it equips students with knowledge, skills, and a global mindset for today’s interconnected world.Under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Lung, each destination becomes a practical learning space, and each activity a meaningful lesson—contributing to the development of UIT students who are knowledgeable, confident, and ready for international integration.Through their experiences in Shijiazhuang, UIT students continue to expand their perspectives and strengthen their readiness to thrive in global academic and professional environments—aligned with UIT’s “Global Reach” strategy.
