The University of Information Technology's Principal "Embarks" on the "Spring Journey" 2024

13-02-2024
For every student studying far from home, happiness means being able to return home, celebrate Tet with family. However, not everyone can easily attain such happiness as many students face difficult circumstances preventing them from going home for Tet. Understanding this, the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City has organized the "Spring Journey" 2024 program in collaboration with its member schools, dormitories, and various related units. The journey of love has begun, allowing students to temporarily leave their campuses to reunite with their families, welcoming the new year with love and warmth. Prior to the departure of the students' journey, representatives from the University of Information Technology, led by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice President, visited, presented gifts, and extended Tet wishes. It is noted that earlier, the University of Information Technology and its partner companies had generously provided many bus tickets for students who couldn't afford to go home for Tet, ensuring they could reunite with their families. Happy New Year and see you in the Year of the Tiger at UIT. Welcome to the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (03/02/1930 - 03/02/2024)

Welcome to the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (03/02/1930 - 03/02/2024)

07-02-2024
As we know, the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (3/2/1930) marked a significant turning point in the revolutionary history of the Vietnamese people, as well as the history of the development of the civilized, cultured, and heroic Vietnamese nation. In 1911, the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh set out to find a new path for the national salvation cause, striving for national independence. After many years of activities abroad, he persistently researched, studied, creatively applied and step by step propagated Marxist-Leninist ideology to Vietnam, diligently preparing the necessary conditions for the establishment of a genuine revolutionary party. On February 3, 1930, under the leadership of Nguyen Ai Quoc, the Conference unifying communist organizations in our country was held in the Cuu Long Peninsula, Hong Kong (China), deciding to unite communist organizations in our country into a single Party, named the Communist Party of Vietnam. Throughout the past 94 years, the Party has led our people through two extraordinary resistance wars, achieving national independence, building a developed Vietnam with an increasingly high position on the international stage. As stated by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Our country has never had such potential, position, and international prestige as today." From a food-deficient country, it has become a leading global food exporter, from a technology-lagging region to being at the forefront of 5G technology. In the context of global economic recession, the correctness and foresight of the Party and the State have helped our country become a shining light in the world economy. In 2021, the glorious success of the 13th Party Congress outlined the development roadmap for the country in the new decade, with the goal of making our country a developed nation, standing shoulder to shoulder with major powers around the world, as President Ho Chi Minh always desired. The youth of UIT, in particular, and the Vietnamese youth in general, always believe in the leadership of the Party, strive to learn and train, and build a rich, powerful, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam. Students should be put at the Center of All Activities

06-02-2024
This was the directive of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Deputy Director of VNUHCM, at the conference summarizing the student activities of VNUHCM in 2023 and outlining the tasks for 2024. The conference was organized at the VNUHCM Executive Office on February 1. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam stated that in 2023, VNUHCM implemented the Ideal Revolutionary Education project, focusing on ethics, lifestyle, and inspiring dedication for the youth, adolescents, and children in the 2021-2030 period. Through the implementation of the project, overall educational efforts for students in terms of political awareness and ideology have shown creativity in propaganda forms and timely content innovation. However, the Student Affairs Board needs to consider adding new tasks to adapt to the current context. VNUHCM also intensified surveys to grasp the situation and desires of students through satisfaction surveys, post-graduation employment surveys, and surveys of labor employers in 4 provinces in the Southeast region. These surveys aim to improve the quality of education for students to meet the new requirements of society. Survey results indicated that academic pressure, financial concerns, and health are challenging issues for students' lives. Taking care of students should focus on building policies to overcome these difficulties. "The Prime Minister has directed that students are the focus, teachers are the motivation, and educational institutions are the foundation. Therefore, all our activities must be centered around students to help them achieve the learning outcomes. In turn, providing a workforce that meets the needs of employers," emphasized Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam. He noted that in the orientation of activities in 2024, as outlined in the Annual Conference of VNUHCM, for student affairs, VNUHCM has identified plans to continue innovating programs and methods, enhancing cultural and artistic activities, physical education, and team activities. For student affairs in 2024, two main initiatives will be implemented, including the Sports Festival and the organization of a Music Festival for VNUHCM students. Regarding the Sports Festival, a new approach will be taken compared to previous years. Instead of centralized organization within 2 months, this year's festival will be scattered throughout the year, with each sports competition led by a specific member unit. The conference heard reports summarizing the student activities of VNUHCM in 2023, the draft orientation, and tasks for student affairs at VNUHCM in 2024. Delegates discussed enthusiastically issues related to improving health care, organizing specialized volunteer activities for students, and coordinating between units in student surveys. Assoc. 02-02-2024
Before the Lunar New Year holiday, Uni Tour 2024 took over 50 students from Phu Nhuan High School on an educational visit to explore the learning environment at University of Information Technology (UIT). The students began by touring the Smart Classrooms designed for students enrolled in the Vietnamese-Japanese program. Here, they experienced modern computers and specialized software for language learning. The Smart Classrooms at UIT are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and machinery to support the learning process. Following this, the students visited various laboratories at UIT, including the Data Center, Information Security Laboratory (InSecLab), Multimedia Lab (MMLab), and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Lab (ASIC LAB). Here, the students were introduced to the research and experimentation conducted by postgraduate students and UIT students in their academic and research pursuits. Students at the specialized Application-Specific Integrated Circuit Lab (ASIC LAB). Each laboratory played a unique role in the field of Information Technology. For example, at the InSecLab, students gained insights into research, scientific knowledge, and the application of modern technology. In the ASIC LAB, experts provided detailed information about the role and significance of integrated circuits worldwide, as well as future career opportunities for microchip engineers. Exploring Artificial Intelligence at UIT During the visit to the MMLab, students learned about Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and had the opportunity to test demos with computer vision to understand more about this trending field. As part of the tour, Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh, Head of the Computer Science Department, shared insights with the students about issues related to Artificial Intelligence. Through this session, students gained a better understanding of the academic programs offered at UIT, career opportunities, and a clearer vision of their future professions in the IT industry. Experts also diligently addressed students' questions about the field of Information Technology. Students checking in at the UIT Spring Campus. Uni Tour 2024 is part of the activities under the "UIT Student Ambassadors 2024" program, aiming to provide high school students with the opportunity to directly experience the facilities and education quality at the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (UIT).
