The morning of the 5th September, and in the atmosphere of welcoming a new academic year across the country, more than 1,000 UIT’s students attended the Opening Ceremony at the VNUHCM Headquarter. On August of 09-10, Birmingham City University (BCU) carried out validation to 2 programs: Computer Networks & Network Security and Computer Science for the cooperation between UIT and BCU. The two university’s leaders discussed validation activities In two working days, BCU delegates validated two international joint programs of the Faculties of Computer Networks and Communications and Computer Science. According to Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, President, the two programs would give opportunities to UIT’s students to study and work in an international education environment, get international degrees in IT and become an international labour force. She believed that this cooperation benefited and strengthen the relationship between the two universities. In the afternoon of August 04th, the deans of the Computer Science and Computer Networks and Communications Faculties met and worked with representatives from Hosei University. On the Hosei University (Hosei)’s side were Professor Kazuo Yana, IIST Program Director, Technology Faculty; Dr. Hitoshi Iyatomi, Faculty of Science and Engineering, and graduate students. On the University of Information Technology (UIT)’s side were Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Dean of the Computer Networks and Communications Faculty; Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh, Dean of Computer Science Faculty; and more than 20 undergraduate and graduate students. At the meeting, Hosei’s represenatative introduced the IIST Graduate Program. According to Kazua Yana, IIST Program gave UIT’s students opportunities to study and work in an international background, and have professors’ supports to study well during their stay in Japan.  The students asked about tuition fees, living environment, languages, Hosei’s benefits to international students such as job opportunities, scholarships. In the afternoon of July 31st, Office of Inspections, Legality and Quality Assurance and Office of Academic Affairs organized a workshop to collect stakeholders' opinions on the UIT’s training programs. Associate Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Lung, Vice President made a remark to open the workshop Attending the workshop were the Associate Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Lung, Vice President; Deans, Heads of Departments, 20 alumni, 30 representatives from companies: FUJINET SYSTEMS JSC, VNG Corporation, Gameloft Vietnam, Renesas Design Vietnam Co., Ltd., FPT Software, DEK Technologies Vietnam, Microchip Technology Vietnam, Axon Active Vietnam, TROBZ. In the morning of May 13th, 2017, the contest "12THANNUAL INTERNATIONAL MICROELECTRONICS OLYMPIAD OF ARMENIA” (AMO2017-UIT)" in Vietnam was organized by Faculty of Computer Engineering - University of Information Technology (VNU-HCM).
