Title of the paper: "Development of Parking System for Smart Cities using LoRaWAN, Blockchain, and Deep Learning" Paper link: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/10318932 Students involved: Le Dinh Tri – 21521561 – MMTT2021 – Primary author. Le Huy Hung – 21520888 – ATCL2021 – Co-author. Supervisor: MSc. Nguyen Khanh Thuat. Abstract of the paper: In today's context, data in smart parking lots is prone to forgery, and a large amount of data is exchanged among multiple parties, increasing reliability and efficiency issues in management. This can make it difficult for many people to find suitable parking spaces nearby, leading to wasted time. In this paper, we present a smart parking system integrated with LoRaWAN, Blockchain database on the BigchainDB platform, optical character recognition (OCR) using WPOD-NET combined with SVM, and Cloud services. The main goal of the system is to integrate applications across different parking lots to help reduce deployment time, storage, and safely share information under the management of a reliable decentralized system, while designing a non-stop vehicle registration recognition system. Based on the results of this research, we have discovered a new approach that efficiently interacts and consumes less energy between components in parking lots, decentralized Blockchain networks, and Cloud services. Additionally, this system can simultaneously handle a large number of users while maintaining low average latency of about one second. "We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Nguyen Khanh Thuat for his dedicated guidance and pointing out shortcomings, providing additional suggestions for us to complete this research and publish this scientific paper." The International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Communications (ATC) is an annual conference series, starting from 2008, jointly organized by the Radio and Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV) and the IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc). The objectives of the event include promoting an international forum for scientific and technological exchange between Vietnamese and global scientists and engineers in the fields of electronics, communications, and related areas, as well as sharing high-quality research contributions from researchers and companies in these fields. In 2023, the ATC conference is held in Da Nang, Vietnam, from October 19-21, 2023, hosted by the University of Information Technology and Communications Vietnam - Korea (VKU - UDN). The conference features invited prominent speakers as well as articles from top researchers from around the world.
