In the morning of March 21, 2018, the University of Information Technology (IT) held a announcement ceremony of the decision on merging and handling the decision to appoint personnel at the Foreign Language Center.
Attending the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Lung, Vice Rector; representatives of the departments of the University, and all officers - employees of the new unit merged.

This merger is the policy of the Party Committee, the Board of Management and approval by VNU-HCM. This is the common trend of the foreign language training units of VNU-HCM members; offering opportunities to consolidate and promote the strength of existing resources in a streamlined and effective way; improving the quality of teaching foreign languages to students.
The ceremony announced the decision on merging of the Department of English and Foreign Language Center into a new Foreign Language Center and the appointment decisions of Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Lung holds the position of Director of Foreign Language Center, Mr. Phan Hoang Chuong holds the position of Deputy Director of Foreign Language Center.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh congratulated the Foreign Language Center on this merging. According to Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh, Foreign Language Center will be as a provider of foreign language teaching services for students inside and outside of the University; organizing examinations and issuing foreign language certificates; implementing other foreign language services, contributing to financial revenue for the University.
Receiving instructions from the Rector, Assoc. Prof. Vu Duc Lung has promised to build a strong foreign language development center, providing good quality foreign language teaching services, thus contributing to the financial revenue for the University.
