Recently, Bui Minh Khanh, a student majoring in Computer Science, became the first Valedictorian of the International Joint Program (BCU) at University of Information Technology. With the life motto "once determined to do something, do it with all your might," Khanh has continuously exerted effort to achieve high academic achievements.
Upon learning that he became the Valedictorian, Khanh felt surprised and happy, acknowledging that his efforts at UIT had borne "sweet fruits." He expressed gratitude to his family for their support throughout his university journey and mentioned that this achievement serves as motivation to approach his work with confidence.
During his time at UIT, Minh Khanh faced challenges, feeling tired and discouraged due to the dense volume of knowledge. Particularly, when studying machine learning, the extensive content on geometry, linear algebra, and abstract algorithms required considerable time for him to understand their practical applications.
However, driven by his passion for technology and the desire to create his own technological product, Khanh overcame these challenges through persistent study and knowledge absorption. The Valedictorian shared that he learned not only subject-specific knowledge but also gained valuable perspectives on work and problem-solving from lecturers and peers. Khanh mentioned, "UIT lecturers are enthusiastic and dedicated to students. I also made friends with like-minded people, allowing us to learn from each other's experiences, something that is hard to achieve when studying alone."
The International Joint Program at UIT provides training in the exact field Khanh wants to pursue, adding an international degree component upon program completion without the need for studying abroad. Therefore, Khanh chose UIT as the launching pad for his long-term journey. Additionally, studying at UIT provided the Valedictorian with a solid foundation in English, aiding in job applications. He said, "The International Joint Program at UIT gave me a strong English foundation, so I was highly evaluated by the recruitment department for my communication skills during interviews. Throughout my studies, I had the opportunity to use English in communication with teachers as well as access foreign books, scientific research papers, and academic materials, specifically from BCU's online library."
The knowledge acquired at UIT became a foundation for Minh Khanh's professional development. He stated, "Most of the knowledge I gained at the university has been helpful in my work, especially in programming, network knowledge, and system design. These are frequently asked topics during job interviews." The practical and up-to-date nature of the courses in the International Joint Program at UIT helps students explore comprehensively, focusing on the core content of their field of study.
For Khanh, UIT is a dynamic environment that supports students in their studies, organizing various activities to expose them to trending technologies such as AI. The university frequently arranges job fairs and business tours, providing students with opportunities to better understand the job market in the IT field.
