UIT Strengthens Partnership with BCU and Expands Research Connections in the United Kingdom
As part of the ongoing collaboration between the University of Information Technology (UIT) and Birmingham City University (BCU), a delegation from UIT, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Tú Anh – the university's President, visited the United Kingdom last week for an official working trip.
At Birmingham City University, the UIT delegation received a warm welcome and participated in a discussion session with university leaders. Both sides reviewed the outcomes of their collaboration since 2017, while also discussing future expansion plans. A key focus was enhancing the quality of the joint programs that UIT has been implementing, offering more opportunities for high-quality education to Vietnamese students, especially UIT students. Apart from the discussions, the delegation had the opportunity to tour BCU’s facilities and experience the learning environment, where many international students, including Vietnamese students, are currently studying.
The delegation also visited Manchester, where they toured the University of Manchester and met with Professor Sophia Ananiadou – Director of The National Centre for Text Mining (NaCTeM), the world's first public center specializing in data mining, contributing expertise in natural language processing and information extraction. This meeting opened up several promising research collaboration opportunities, aimed at enhancing the scientific and technological capacity at UIT and fostering international integration in research. This working trip not only deepened international cooperation but also laid the groundwork for high-quality training and research programs, helping UIT continue to assert its position as a leading institution in IT education in Vietnam and the region.
