To share experiences for the TOEIC exam, the Language Center of the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM organized a workshop titled "UIT Students and the TOEIC Speaking - Writing Test" on the morning of March 21.
The speakers at the workshop included MSc. Tat Duong Khanh Linh - Lecturer at the Language Center, and student Đỗ Phi Long - from the Software Engineering Department.
During the workshop, MSc. Tất Dương Khánh Linh provided an overview of the Speaking - Writing test as well as the structure of each test section to help participants understand and prepare thoroughly for the exam. She also introduced some effective test preparation "tips" as well as popular review materials to enhance various skills.
In addition, the students also had a discussion with Đỗ Phi Long, who scored 370/400 on the TOEIC Speaking-Writing test (190 points for Speaking and 180 points for Writing). Long shared useful "real-life experience" in the exam room such as coping with noise when recording the Speaking test or overcoming moments of "crisis" due to "difficult" questions. Long added, "English is a lifelong journey, requiring a reasonable approach, more reading - writing - speaking to apply it in daily life and work."
