Inauguration of the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room
A New Step in Semiconductor Technology Education

On the morning of March 25, the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room was officially inaugurated on the 5th floor of building B at the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM (UIT). This event marks a significant milestone in enhancing the facilities for teaching and research in digital circuit design, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry.

Inauguration Ceremony of the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Lung, Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang, Vice-President; Dr. Nguyen Minh Son, Dean of the Computer Engineering Faculty, along with leaders from various departments, faculties, and Computer Engineering students. The event also welcomed representatives from Faraday Technology Vietnam, including Mr. Nguyen Trong Nam, Director of the SoC Platform Design Division, and Ms. Nguyen Thu Ngân, Human Resource Manager.

A Valuable Experience for Students

In the context of the rapidly developing semiconductor industry, which is becoming a key sector in the digital economy, the investment in infrastructure and high-quality human resource development plays a crucial role. UIT has invested in the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room, equipped with modern systems that meet international standards. This new facility not only enhances the quality of UIT’s education but also reflects the strategic vision of the university in supporting the growth of the semiconductor design industry.

Speech by Dr. Nguyen Minh Son

Dr. Nguyen Minh Son shared, “The Digital Circuit Design Room is one of the key advancements that the Computer Engineering Department has focused on in 2024 and 2025 to meet the growing demand for internationally standard circuit design training. I hope that with UIT's investment and the efforts of the faculty in establishing this lab, our students will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to meet professional standards, and businesses will feel confident about the quality of education provided during the 4-year training period at UIT.”

The practice room is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and software to international standards, providing not only support for students in their studies and practical training but also a space for scientific research, innovation, and collaboration with businesses. This will serve as a hub where students and faculty can engage in real-world projects, aligning research ideas with market needs.

Speech by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nam, Faraday Representative

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nam emphasized, “This is a significant milestone not only for UIT but also for the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam. The investment in developing facilities for training, especially the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room, shows the long-term vision and strong commitment of UIT in improving teaching quality by linking theory with practice, providing students with opportunities to experience a professional working environment while still at university. Faraday is very impressed by UIT’s efforts to create opportunities for students to learn, research, and innovate in the field of Circuit Design. In the future, Faraday hopes to expand cooperation with the university through training programs, internships, and research development projects.”

Signing of the Collaboration Agreement between the Computer Engineering Department and Faraday

During the ceremony, the Computer Engineering Department and Faraday Technology Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding, marking an important step in bridging the gap between education and business practice. This collaboration will not only open up many opportunities for research and technology development but also provide students with access to a professional working environment, enhancing the quality of the workforce in the semiconductor design industry in Vietnam.

The inauguration of the Digital Circuit Design Practice Room demonstrates UIT’s relentless efforts to improve the quality of education and contribute to the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry.
