Graduation Ceremony of
the BCU International Joint Program 2025
On the afternoon of March 10, the Graduation Ceremony of the International Joint Program between the University of Information Technology (UIT) and Birmingham City University (BCU) took place in a solemn atmosphere at UIT. The ceremony marked an important milestone, signaling the growth and readiness of the new graduates to take on new challenges after years of diligent study and training.
The program was attended by Prof. Maxine Lintern - Vice Chancellor for Research, Dr. Robert Gibb - Associate Professor for International Cooperation, and Ms. Karen Wilkinson - Quality Assurance Officer from Birmingham City University. From UIT, the ceremony was joined by Prof. Vũ Đức Lung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, Prof. Nguyễn Hoàng Tú Anh, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee, President, Prof. Nguyễn Lưu Thùy Ngân, Vice President, Prof. Lê Trung Quân, Head of the Computer Networks & Communications Department, Dr. Ngô Đức Thành, Head of the Computer Science Department, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Toàn, Head of the Student Affairs Office, Ms. Nguyễn Đình Loan Phương, Deputy Head of the Training Office, and Ms. Lê Ngô Thục Vi, Head of the Special Programs Office, along with faculty leaders from various departments.
In the opening speech, Prof. Nguyễn Hoàng Tú Anh, President of UIT, encouraged the graduates to "keep faith in yourselves, nurture the fire of enthusiasm, and the spirit of continuous learning to confidently face the vast and challenging world ahead. Youth is an invaluable gift you possess, and you have a bright future ahead of you. Be bold in starting, innovating, and embracing failure as a part of growth."
Prof. Maxine Lintern, from BCU, emphasized, "Today is your day - a moment to celebrate but also a time for reflection. I know your journey hasn't been easy. In a world facing numerous challenges such as climate change, healthcare inequality, and social injustice, particularly in the fields you've chosen, I believe you will make a difference. I see in you the sparks of creativity, innovation, and leadership, and I trust that you will become the change-makers society needs."
The graduation ceremony not only marks the completion of an academic program but also opens doors to new opportunities. The graduates are now standing before countless possibilities to continue growing and building a bright future.
After six years of continuous operation, the BCU International Joint Program has proven its value, earning the trust of both students and parents. The program not only provides a solid foundation of professional knowledge but also equips students with creative thinking, international integration skills, and the resilience to face future challenges.
As one of the top graduates, Ngô Thu Hà from the Computer Science program, represented the students and expressed her gratitude to the teachers, family, and friends. She shared her study method for achieving high marks, saying that setting goals from the beginning of the semester and always striving for the best results was key. "The purpose of university is not just to learn specialized knowledge but to learn how to learn. This will be your invaluable tool for learning other things in life because you will always have to learn something new if you want to succeed."
The graduation ceremony was not just a time for the graduates to look back on their journey, but also a moment for them to step confidently into their new paths.
