Meet the hotboy from Quang province who graduated at the top of his class in the Information Security program at the University of Information Technology (UIT).
"Coming across news of a UIT student winning the championship in an international competition on Information Security convinced me of the school's high-quality education. Without hesitation, I chose this place as the launching pad for my four-year university journey," said Phung Ngoc Huyen, the newly crowned top graduate in the Information Security program (high-quality programs) at the VNU-HCM University of Information Technology.
After studying at UIT for several years, the valedictorian mentioned that the university consistently upgrades its facilities to provide the best conditions for student development. The professors at UIT not only have high expertise but are also enthusiastic in answering questions and supporting students in their studies and research. Additionally, Huyen has built a supportive group of friends at UIT, emphasizing the importance of companionship in both academic and personal life. "If you go through university without excellent companions, the meaning of your college years will be significantly diminished," he shared.

Huyen admitted that he never set a goal to become the top graduate in his field. Therefore, upon learning the results, the 2001-born student was pleasantly surprised and proud of his diligence and efforts that bore sweet fruit. For Huyen, this achievement also involved a bit of luck, as his grades were closely competitive with the runner-up. During his time at UIT, Huyen received full scholarships, partial OEP scholarships, and academic encouragement awards.
What fueled Huyen's daily dedication and diligence throughout the years was his passion for Information Security. According to him, to excel in studies, one needs to thoroughly understand the issues rather than just scratching the surface. Huyen expressed, "When studying at the university, I wanted to deeply understand certain aspects, so I would immediately ask the lecturers. I had no hesitation, and, in part, the openness of the lecturers allowed me to grasp the knowledge quickly, trying to note down what the teachers instructed." Effective time management and appropriate planning were also factors that helped Huyen achieve the title of valedictorian in the recent graduation.

UIT has also given Huyen many memorable experiences. Perhaps, the most impactful period for the young graduate was completing his thesis. During this time, Huyen felt the pressure of juggling work, conducting research for his thesis, and taking an English proficiency exam to graduate. There were moments of doubt and fatigue, but fortunately, he always received encouragement from his family, teachers, and friends. Huyen especially expressed sincere gratitude to Mr. Phan The Duy, a lecturer in the Information Security department, for wholeheartedly guiding and supporting him during the thesis process. "Although my thesis did not reach an excellent level, the effort I put in makes me feel deserving and proud when I think about it," Huyen shared.
Continuing to enhance his skills and acquiring additional certifications related to Information Security are Huyen's aspirations for the future. He hopes to maintain his passion for the field and further develop in the chosen area.
