Abstract:
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, blockchain technology has found applications in various fields including finance, government, and education due to its decentralized, secure, and transparent nature. In the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology plays a vital role in enhancing the management and verification of educational information. We propose the ZUni system, offering a potential solution to apply blockchain technology to transform how individuals verify students' educational qualifications while ensuring data integrity and security. We utilize the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to store certificate information, Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP), and Decentralized Identifiers (DID) on the Ethereum blockchain to establish clear and tamper-proof certificate profiles. This enables transparent verification of the authenticity of certificate information. This paper aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of blockchain technology applications based on IoT in the education system. It addresses common issues related to centralized systems used to manage student certificate data in educational institutions, such as data security vulnerabilities and the potential for errors during data input. ZUni can address these challenges by establishing a decentralized system through blockchain technology, issuing, storing, and verifying certificate information while ensuring students' data privacy securely.
