COVID-19 has never been the obstacle to education

The outbreak of COVID-19 has taken hold and progressed “complicated”, Vietnam’s nation-wide students were officially allowed to be absent from school in February. However, UIT’s students have avoided this absenteeism by adopting technology in their education.

Develop self-study and take the initiative in learning

On February 14, 2020, the Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training issued an official document No. 431 / BGDĐT-GDTX on extending the duration of school absenteeism amid the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the document, the Ministry offered eligibility for students and learners to make a bit latter to the 2019 – 2020 academic year end and other study schedules. Under the document, there would be the provision of detailed guidance so as to adjust the study at the locals lest the country’s quality educational assessment would not be affected.

UIT’s students with self-discipline were oriented to study and improve their knowledge untiredly by applying modern technology in their learning.

Application of technology to serve learning

Forums and fanpages have become the replacement to studying meetings in the flesh. UIT has frequently updated shared information in detail relating to the students’ major. One of the most popular and cared student groups on the forum is named ‘Information Technology Learning Board.’ This forum should not be in ignorance for its usefulness and effectiveness if you are passionate and want to major in information technology. The Information Technology Learning Board has borned the responsibility to create a learning environment to all UIT’s students with available and credible ensurance to reading materials, samples of examinations, intstructional video, source code, etc. on basic subjects and IT majors such as introductory programming, linear algebra, and analytics on the forum.

In addition, live streaming is another useful method for the UIT students to communicate to each other over the internet. It includes video group calls, group meetings, forums to answer queries to share learning materials amid the crisis.

To UIT’s students, learning is never enough

In response to the daily change in the modern world, UIT’s students have acknowledged the importance of self-discipline in learning. Hence, any upcoming challenging situations have been solved to hold offline meetings effectively with an aim to support each other.

Many UIT’s students even actively applied for internships at businesses to gain hands-on experience.
