The graduation ceremony symbolizing hope and development in international training collaboration took place on the morning of December 20, 2023, at Hall E, University of Information Technology (UIT).
The organizing committee of the graduation ceremony had the honor of welcoming Dr. Gerald Feldman and Dr. Samer Bamansoor, representatives from Birmingham City University (BCU), United Kingdom; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the university; Dr. Ngo Duc Thanh - Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, along with esteemed faculty members and deans from various departments both within and outside the university. Particularly noteworthy was the presence of parents and students who took the precious time to celebrate with the graduating class.
The partnership with Birmingham City University, UK, had been nurtured and prepared for a long time, officially enrolling students since 2019. The goal of this program is to provide opportunities for students to obtain an international university degree, be proficient in English, and be ready for international-level computer engineering positions upon graduation. After five years of admissions, enduring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have witnessed the first graduates of this program.
During the ceremony, attendees listened to sharing sessions, congratulations, and words of love and hope from esteemed leaders to the new graduates. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh and Dr. Gerald Feldman affirmed that the achievements of the new graduates are not only personal triumphs but also part of the history of UIT and BCU. In their speeches, the leaders encouraged the graduates to believe in themselves, nurture enthusiasm, embrace new challenges with strength and courage, and cultivate values that make them valuable contributors to their families and society.
In response to these heartfelt sentiments, the valedictorian, Bui Minh Khanh, a top graduate in Computer Science, delivered a profound speech. Khanh expressed gratitude to parents and teachers for their silent worries and sacrifices that contributed to the presence of the new graduates at the ceremony. Khanh also conveyed a message to current BCU students, advising them not to fear the challenges ahead, as these challenges will help them accumulate knowledge and become reliable individuals in the future. Khanh encouraged them to discover and nurture their own passions and dreams.
The ceremony officially concluded, marking a new chapter in the lives of the graduates and a successful milestone in the collaboration between BCU and UIT. It opens up many prospects for the development of joint undergraduate and postgraduate programs between the two universities in the future.
We sincerely thank the support of the university's leaders, departments, and external contributors for sharing, creating conditions, and contributing to the success of the 2023 International Collaboration Graduation Ceremony.
