(Dan tri) - There was a dreadful period, crying a lot upon realizing the mistake in choosing the wrong major, but Le Huu Huy found his own path and became the top student by embracing that initial misstep.

Collapse due to the wrong choice
Le Huu Huy (born in 2001) has just graduated as the top student in the E-commerce major (high-quality program) at University of Information Technology, with a cumulative score of 8.59/10.
However, few know that the young man once went through a period described as "dreadful" and "collapse."
Huy shared that since childhood, he had a special love for biology and aspired to become a doctor.
However, due to family circumstances, he had to switch from the natural sciences track (math, chemistry, biology) to the social sciences track (math, physics, chemistry) in the 12th grade.
The former student of Truong Dinh High School (Go Cong town, Tien Giang province) shared: "Becoming a doctor was my dream. But because of my family's financial difficulties, I had to switch to the social sciences track even though at the time of graduation and university registration, I had enough points in the natural sciences track to be admitted to medical school."
Before entering e-commerce, Huu Huy had no foundational knowledge of computer science. In fact, since high school, he had no passion for this subject.

"Starting from scratch, I had no knowledge of computer science at all, not even a direction, so I felt very insecure. When I first encountered the initial lines of code, I was very confused and didn't know where to start," the top student recalled.
The initial stage for Hữu Huy became even more difficult as he could not find passion in the e-commerce field. Struggling in the chaos, Huy couldn't answer the questions he raised himself.
"That was the most dreadful time for me, and I cried a lot. At that time, I thought about my dream of becoming a doctor. I became even more disheartened when I asked myself: Is the decision to give up the dream of becoming a doctor to enter this unfamiliar field right or wrong?" Huu Huy shared.
"Trying to love what I have"
During that difficult time, the young man from Tiền Giang province realized, "The only way is to try to love what I have, accept changes in myself to fit the surrounding environment."
Thinking this way, Huy tried to lift himself up. He chose to face the problem rather than avoid it.
"Facing things that I feared, just do it, go where it leads. It's better than being afraid and not daring to do it," Huu Huy said.
Huu Huy realized that e-commerce is a field with significant job opportunities in the IT industry. He discovered his interest in reading technology solutions, especially those applying technology to business.
After finding his passion, the student of University of Information Technology made constant efforts in studying and self-improvement.
"I tried to study diligently. If doing it once is not enough, I did it twice, three times, four times... I did it until I understood," Huu Huy described the process of "perseverance" to adapt to the surrounding environment.
The top student's study method is to try to learn from projects and exercises assigned by teachers. He believes that revisiting issues that are not understood several times will help grasp the knowledge more firmly. In addition, Huy also sought some experience from teachers as motivation to overcome difficulties.
The student emphasized the importance of group study in the university environment. Hữu Huy believes that studying from friends is easy to understand and learn new things.
Diligence is the key
Sharing with a Dan Tri reporter about the motivation that helped him overcome difficult times, the student from Tien Giang said it was his family. His family is a place that unconditionally supports Huu Huy.
"My mother always loves and supports me on every journey of my life. Even though I have grown up, my mother still worries and cares about every little thing. I am not afraid of failing, I am only afraid of disappointing my mother before my own failure. Therefore, I always try to create opportunities to make my mother proud of me," Huu Huy said.
To achieve impressive academic achievements, Huu Huy shared his secret: "The only thing I have is diligence. If we strive for success, success will follow us."
To avoid excessive pressure, the student set goals in his studies: "I usually set goals for each stage, achieve one stage, and then I will upgrade my goals a bit higher."

Speaking about the top student in the E-commerce major, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice President of University of Information Technology - said that Lê Hữu Huy has a good study spirit and a positive lifestyle.
The energy that the new top student Huu Huy brings will also be a good source of motivation for students to consider their path when choosing a major and profession.
Sharing about future plans, Huu Huy said he would continue to take on the position of business development partner at a company. Huu Huy hopes to deploy applications for the solutions he participated in during academic competitions at the university.
