FROM COMPUTER ENGINEERING STUDENT TO CANDAR 2023 OUTSTANDING PAPER AWARD WINNER AND PHD JOURNEY IN JAPAN
Le Vu Trung Duong, a former student of Computer Engineering, class of 2015, immediately after graduating, received a full scholarship for a Master's degree in Japan. Thanks to his impressive academic achievements and research papers, he was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. program (currently in the second year) at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) - Information Science Division.
This former Computer Engineering student received the full NAIST scholarship for his research in improving high-performance hardware configurations for Cryptography algorithms used in IoT, Information Security, and Blockchain Mining.

With his strengths, throughout his study and research, Trung Duong has authored 22 scientific research papers (with 133 citations – h-index 7, i10-index 3) and won the CANDAR 2023 Outstanding Paper Award.
Duong plans to continue his research after completing the Ph.D. program. Specifically, he aims to work at research institutes in Japan to gain more experience and expand his knowledge in the field of information technology.
