CE SPORTS 2023, a football tournament organized to enhance the solidarity among students studying at the Faculty of Computer Science, also aims to create a sports playground to improve the health of students after intense study and research sessions.
Registration opened on October 14, 2023, and the most exciting football tournament of the year at the Faculty of Computer Science attracted many registered teams. With 6 teams, namely CE DEBUG, YOUTH FC, CEK15++, CE K17, CE VATRENI, and MTCL2021, divided into 2 groups A and B, CE SPORTS 2023 entered the group stage.
After intense matches on October 20, 22, and 24, the top 4 outstanding teams securing spots in the semi-finals were CEK15++, MTCL2021, CE VATRENI, and CE DEBUG. The semi-finals of the CE SPORTS 2023 Football Tournament took place on October 26, 2023.
In the match between CEK15++ and CE VATRENI, spectators witnessed a spectacular comeback as both teams ended with a draw of 3 goals each. On the contrary, in the match between MTCL2021 and CE DEBUG on the same day, Team MTCL2021 demonstrated strength and superior capabilities with a clear 12 – 2 victory over their opponent.
Thus, the two outstanding teams advancing to the final for the prestigious CE SPORTS 2023 trophy were MTCL2021 and CEK15++. Additionally, CE DEBUG and CE VATRENI faced each other for the 3rd and 4th place.
On October 28, 2023, the final of the CE SPORTS 2023 football tournament took place. The matches were tense and competitive, and our students seemed to have put all their energy and effort into providing the most impressive performances for the audience. Nevertheless, a bright smile remained on their faces, serving as the strength for the entire team to rise and claim victory.
With a 3-point difference from their opponent, CE VATRENI secured 3rd place, and CE DEBUG claimed the 4th position in the tournament. The final was a tough competition between MTCL2021 and CEK15++. Ultimately, Team MTCL2021 emerged victorious with a 1-goal lead over CEK15++.
