Student Affairs and Academic Advising Conference 2023-2024

On the afternoon of 21st December 2023, the VNU-HCM University of Information Technology organized the Student Affairs and Academic Advising Conference 2023-2024 at Hall E.

The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice President; MSc. Nguyen Van Toan - Head of Office of Student Affairs; MSc. Nguyen Dinh Khuong - Head of Office of IT & Data Resource Management; MSc. Tran Ba Nhiem - Deputy Head of Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs; MSc. Le Ngo Thuc Vi - Head of the Office of Excellent Programs; Mrs. Le Thi Minh Phuong - Deputy Head of Office of Student Affairs, and representatives from various faculties and departments.

During the conference, MSc. Nguyen Van Toan presented a summary and evaluation of student affairs activities in the academic year 2022-2023, along with the implementation plan for student affairs activities in the year 2023-2024. Mrs. Le Thi Minh Phuong reported on the academic advising situation in the academic year 2022-2023. Over the past year, the Office of Student Affairs has implemented various activities to support students, including career counseling, student experience programs, internship assistance, enhancement of student skills and attitudes, academic support, and financial assistance such as study grants, student loans, and scholarships. The office has also focused on ensuring students are treated with respect and equality through various channels of information and feedback.

During the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang shared additional insights on scholarship matters, emphasizing that the "Sharing Space" is a platform where the university understands, reaches out to, and supports students in overcoming psychological crises, effectively addressing mental health challenges.

Furthermore, at the conference, the university leadership listened attentively and took note of the opinions expressed by faculty members actively engaged in academic advising. This is aimed at enhancing the support for faculty members to carry out their responsibilities effectively and achieve optimal outcomes for the students.

In addition to these discussions, the conference also featured a specialized presentation titled "Nutrition for a Healthy Body, Effective Learning" by MSc. DS. Nguyen Hoang Thu Trang. The objective was to provide additional knowledge on nutrition and healthcare for both faculty members and students.
