On January 17, 2025, the University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM (UIT), hosted a working delegation from NAVER Corporation, South Korea. The meeting focused on surveying the needs of UIT students and discussing the opportunities NAVER can offer to UIT students.
Representing NAVER at the meeting were Mr. Kim Myung Chul – Leader of Boostcamp 1, Head of Education Planning Division, Naver Connect Foundation, Naver Corporation; Ms. Kim Minsoo – Manager of Boostcamp 1, Naver Connect Foundation; and Ms. Nguyễn Ngọc Thuý – Head of International Cooperation Department, Naver Vietnam. On the UIT side, the meeting was attended by Dr. Ngô Đức Thành – Head of the Computer Science Department; MSc. Đỗ Văn Tiến – Deputy Head of the Computer Science Department; and Dr. Đỗ Trọng Hợp – Deputy Head of the Software Engineering Department.

During the meeting, UIT expressed appreciation for the sustainable partnership between the university and NAVER. The university also updated the delegation on its development over the past two years, with an increase in student numbers and the expansion of new training programs, including both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Additionally, both sides discussed future cooperation methods to provide UIT students with real-world work experience through internship programs, research projects, and joint training activities. NAVER expressed a desire to collaborate with UIT to develop high-quality training programs, support teaching activities, and help students develop key skills for their future careers.

At the end of the meeting, NAVER representatives shared their appreciation for UIT students' expertise, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning while working on various projects at NAVER.

NAVER is a leading technology corporation and the owner of the largest search engine in South Korea, with over 20 years of development. After two years of signing a Memorandum of Understanding, the relationship between UIT and NAVER has continuously developed and achieved many accomplishments. NAVER has supported UIT students through internship programs and research projects in South Korea, providing students with hands-on experience in a professional environment. Many UIT students are currently interning at various departments of NAVER, participating in projects related to AI, software, and big data.
