Becoming an Excellent Graduate in Computer Science, what are your emotions at this moment?
Joyful and proud. For me, this is the "sweet fruit" of many years of hard work and dedication to passion. Along this journey, I am grateful to the teachers, family, and friends who have always supported, assisted, and encouraged, creating conditions for me to have valuable opportunities and experiences, expanding my vision and personal development.
What achievements have you attained during your 4 years at UIT?
I have published 2 scientific research papers. Among them, I am the main author of the paper "Human Information Analysis and Retrieval System from Surveillance Cameras," presented at the national FAIR 2022 conference. In this paper, we proposed a model for analyzing and retrieving human information based on images or a description in Vietnamese.
I am also a co-author of the paper "Efficient Multi-class Object Re-identification Approach With A Unified Model," presented at the international ACOMPA 2023 conference. In previous research, ReID models mainly focused on identifying specific objects, such as people or vehicles. In this study, we propose a multi-task ReID model to enhance the identification and classification of multiple types of objects within a single architecture. The proposed method allows the model to achieve high performance and generalization across various types of objects. I also won second place in the AI Tempo Run competition (2022) organized by the AI Club of the Computer Science and Engineering Faculty and first place in the 3rd Annual International Data Science & AI Competition 2022.
To achieve such accomplishments, what is your secret?
In my opinion, to achieve high results in studies, one needs confidence in one's abilities and perseverance in learning. The field of information technology is developing rapidly, requiring learners to continuously acquire and update knowledge to avoid falling behind in specialized skills. Additionally, effective time management is crucial, and we need to ensure a balance between studying, activities, social interaction, and entertainment.
"Family is the Biggest Motivation for Pursuing Dreams"
During your time at UIT, what is the most memorable moment for you?
At UIT, I have many beautiful memories, but perhaps the most memorable one is my participation in the "Artificial Intelligence Challenge (AI Challenge) of Ho Chi Minh City 2022." From the start of the preliminary round to participating in the finals, it was about a 2-month period. I formed a team with some members of the CEEC Club - Computer Science Department. During this time, I learned a lot and became more connected with my teammates through each round. Our initial goal was to participate and learn. After going through three preliminary rounds, we were quite surprised that our team was fortunate to be one of the 26 teams in the final round of that year's competition. Although our team did not win any prizes in the overall results of the competition, the biggest reward for me was the opportunity to exchange and learn from people who share the same passion, as well as receiving a lot of support and encouragement from family and friends during this time.

What were your biggest challenges and motivations in the journey to pursue your passion?
During my time in school, there were times when I lost direction for the future and felt unsure about what I was doing. At those times, I often talked to my family and received valuable encouragement and advice. It can be said that family is my biggest motivation to pursue my current dreams. Furthermore, I am also impressed and resonate with the phrase "If you don't try, you'll never know what you can do." Thanks to that, I have the courage whenever I start a journey or make a decision in life.
What are your plans for the future?
I will continue to research and work in the field of AI/data science. Additionally, I plan to pursue a master's degree to further enhance my knowledge and skills in the industry.
