University President Treats UIT Students to Banh Xeo in Celebration of the Lunar New Year

As the spring season arrives, the atmosphere at UIT transforms, adorned in fresh colors, signaling the vibrant and joyful Lunar New Year approaching.

After an extensive period of preparation, on the morning of January 22, the leaders and students of the University of Information Technology (UIT), a member of the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, officially inaugurated the UIT Spring Area – a culinary and traditional games festival to welcome the Year of the Wood Tiger 2024. Professor, Doctor Vu Duc Lung - Chairman of the University Council, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Hoang Tu Anh - President, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Luu Thuy Ngan - Vice President, Doctor Nguyen Tan Tran Minh Khang - Vice President, and Master Dang Van Em - Chairman of the Trade Union jointly cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Spring Area, marking the beginning of various exciting and dynamic activities.

Within this area, departments set up numerous food stalls where teachers, staff, and students could savor delicious and hygienic meals, various cakes, and affordable beverages. Besides the stalls offering diverse cuisines from different regions, the organizers also arranged a Banh Xeo (Vietnamese sizzling pancake) cooking activity for all faculty, staff, and students to enjoy for free. In the spirit of the festive occasion, the University President personally joined in the Banh Xeo preparation, extending warm wishes to the students for a successful and prosperous 2024.

University Leaders Cut the Ribbon to Inaugurate the UIT Spring Area 2024

Speaking at the event, President Tu Anh also conveyed her wishes to all UIT members, "I wish all members of the UIT family happiness, joy, health, and success in the Year of the Wood Tiger 2024. May all your wishes, big and small, come true, especially wishing the students a joyful and peaceful Tet holiday."

Moreover, the festival featured various traditional folk games such as the Three-Brick Movement, Lemon Passing with a Spoon, and Object Movement with a Sieve. The games were lively with the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and staff, creating not only joyful memories but also fostering strong connections within the UIT community.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, UIT's art team, comprised of students, continuously performed lively Spring songs, adding a cheerful rhythm to the event. Students had the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents within the university grounds.

Every corner of the UIT Spring Area was adorned with vibrant colors, reflecting the Vietnamese Tet atmosphere with blooming peach and apricot blossoms, creating a lively and fresh scene symbolizing prosperity. The UIT Spring Area provides an ideal backdrop for various styles of photos, whether capturing the essence of youth, deep emotions, couples, or simple and graceful moments.

The UIT Spring Area successfully recreated a bright, colorful space, instilling hope and confidence in the continuous development of UIT in the new year, the Year of the Wood Tiger 2024.
