In accordance with Announcement No. 870/TB-TTQLKTX dated December 19, 2023, from the Dormitory Management Center of Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM) regarding the holiday schedule for the Gregorian New Year and the Lunar New Year of the Rat in 2024;
To implement activities for taking care of students who wish to stay in the VNU-HCM dormitory and ensure security and fire safety during the Lunar New Year of the Rat 2024, the Dormitory Management Center of VNU-HCM (the Center) announces the following for the resident students in the dormitory:
Holiday period for Staff - Laborers: From February 8, 2024 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month in the Year of the Tiger - Thursday) to the end of February 14, 2024 (the 5th day of the 1st lunar month in the Year of the Rat - Wednesday).
Registration for staying in the dormitory during the Lunar New Year of the Rat 2024:
Resident students in VNU-HCM dormitories without the opportunity to return home for Tet can register to stay in the dormitory by following these steps:

Students submit registration forms at the offices of the Dormitory Management Units (DMUs) according to the information in Appendix 1. The registration form for staying during the Lunar New Year of 2024 must clearly state the reason for staying; in case students stay to work, they should provide the workplace confirmation address. Registration period: From the date of this announcement until the end of January 15, 2024 (corresponding to the 5th day of the 12th lunar month). Specific lists and room arrangements by DMUs will be announced to students after approval.

Location for arrangements: Expected to be at Building D5 of DMU B.D and Building G01 of DMU B.E, Area B, VNU-HCM Dormitory.

Room check-in time: Students staying during Tet can start relocating from February 2, 2024 (the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month) until February 4, 2024 (the 25th day of the 12th lunar month).
Security and Fire Safety Measures:
To ensure political security, public order, and fire safety during Tet, the Center suggests that students:
(1) Clean and beautify their rooms; the last person must turn off electrical appliances, lock water sources, and lock doors carefully. Room handover procedures to DMUs must be completed before 5:00 PM on February 7, 2024 (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month).
(2) During Tet, students should not leave valuable items or important documents in their rooms. Upon returning to the dormitory, students should contact DMUs to receive their rooms according to regulations.
Students returning to the dormitory before February 14, 2024 (the 6th day of Tet) will be arranged in temporary areas (depending on specific circumstances) to ensure security and order at the dormitory.
Service activities at the dormitory will continue to operate before and after Tet according to the students' class schedules.
Note:
Students staying in the dormitory during Tet must comply with the dormitory's regulations, follow the arrangements for staying and security and fire safety measures during their stay. In the case of a student being absent from the dormitory for more than one day, they must inform the Center (through the main gate security guard, building).
