On the morning of November 25, the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Expanded Student and Student Basketball Tournament of VNUHCM took place in a vibrant atmosphere at the Multipurpose Sports Arena of the University of Technology - VNUHCM. This marks the first time VNUHCM has organized this tournament.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Deputy Director of VNUHCM, VNUHCM always considers physical education and sports education in schools as one of the important educational tasks to promote the movement of physical exercise, sports, and enhance the health of students, contributing to the overall development. This will contribute to fulfilling the goals and mission of VNUHCM in training high-quality human resources.
"To create a sustainable tournament, from this year, VNUHCM will organize a basketball tournament for students. In addition to the goal of enhancing health, VNUHCM also wants this playground to increase the connection between high school and university levels. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for students to learn more about VNUHCM and the VNUHCM Urban Area," emphasized the Deputy Director of VNUHCM.
The 2023 VNUHCM Expanded Student and Student Basketball Tournament took place from November 24 to 26, attracting more than 250 athletes from 14 men's teams, 11 women's teams in the university level, and 15 men's teams, 10 women's teams in the high school level in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province.
