How is the priority admission conducted?

Prioritizing admission for students from the 149 high schools listed above is a method that Ho Chi Minh City National University has been applying for many years. In addition to the general requirements, member universities may add their own admission criteria for students from these schools.

For example, this year the University of Economics and Law reserves up to 20% of its enrollment quota for priority admission for this student group. The registration conditions include: Graduating from high school in 2024; Achieving the title of excellent student in grades 10, 11, and 12 or being a member of the school/provincial team participating in the national excellent student competition or national science and technology competition and achieving good academic results (at least "good" grades) in grades 10, 11, and 12; Having good conduct in grades 10, 11, and 12; Only applying once in the year of high school graduation.

This university stipulates that candidates are only eligible for admission if their high school graduation exam scores in the 3 subject combination groups A00 or A01, D01 or D07 meet the quality assurance threshold (using the 2024 high school graduation exam scores for subjects in the admission combination groups). The admission council of the University of Economics and Law considers admitting candidates based on the average scores of the three years of high school study (grades 10, 11, and 12) in the subject combination group selected by the candidate. Specifically, students from 83 specialized and gifted high schools receive a multiplier of 1.05 for the total score of the 3 subject combination groups considered for admission.

Other member universities of Ho Chi Minh City National University also have specific regulations regarding the priority admission method for students from these 149 high schools.
