The Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) has received an announcement from the National University of Singapore (NUS) regarding the DiscoverNUS program. The program provides opportunities for students from NUS partner universities in the Southeast Asia region to participate in a 1-semester exchange program at NUS. Selected students will have their tuition waived for the program at NUS. Upon completion of the program, students have the chance to apply for the NUS ASEAN Master’s Scholarship Programme. Detailed information is as follows:
1. Duration: 1 semester, from August to December 2024.
2. Quota: 5 students/semester.
3. Location: NUS, Singapore.
4. Benefits:
Students are exempt from tuition fees for the program at NUS and are responsible for other expenses such as accommodation, transportation, meals, student service fees, health fees, etc. UIT has a policy to provide a subsidy of 10 million VND for one UIT student selected for this program.
After participating in the DiscoverNUS program, students in their final year of undergraduate studies can apply for a 1-year master's scholarship program at NUS - NUS ASEAN Master’s Scholarship Programme. These students will have the opportunity to be awarded a tuition-free master's scholarship. The maximum quota is 5 students/year.
5. Eligibility:
Be a third-year or fourth-year student during the exchange at NUS (from August to December 2024), with priority given to third-year students.
Have a major relevant to the field of study registered at NUS.
Have excellent academic achievements in high school and university.
Actively participate in extracurricular activities and community service.
Demonstrate good leadership potential.
Priority is given to students with a good command of English (IELTS 6.0 or higher, or TOEFL ibt 85 or higher).
Have an interest in pursuing a master's program at NUS after participating in the DiscoverNUS program and commit to fully participating in the program.
6. Notes:
Before submitting the application, students should carefully review the following information to determine their compatibility with the program:

Students in the DiscoverNUS program are considered non-graduating, non-exchange (NGNE) students at NUS.
Students who complete the program can request NUS to provide a copy of the academic transcript.
For students awarded the NUS ASEAN Master’s Scholarship Programme, they are not allowed to concurrently receive any other scholarships, allowances, sponsorships, or awards without notifying NUS. In the event a scholarship recipient decides to withdraw from the program or terminates the scholarship, NUS reserves the right to request the student to repay the entire scholarship amount provided.
7. Application Documents:
1 curriculum vitae (CV) in English in pdf format with a file size of less than 3MB, providing complete information on:
Educational background, including the name of the high school with the average score, and the current university with the current average score.
Work experience, leadership, volunteer activities.
Extracurricular activities (clubs, sports activities, etc.).
Academic awards or scholarships received in high school and university (if any).
English proficiency level (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).
Other relevant information such as foreign languages, special talents, etc. (if any).
Follow the attached NUS CV guidelines.
1 student information form (attached form).
1 Vietnamese and English transcript of the latest grades within 30 days from March 11, 2024, confirmed by the training unit.
1 copy of the personal information page of the passport (no need for certification).
1 copy of the English language proficiency certificate (no need for certification).
Evidence of extracurricular activities and community service.
Certificates of commendation or awards for academic achievements (if any).
Application Process:
Students submit their applications to the Student Affairs Office before 8:00 AM on Monday, March 11, 2024.
UIT will select the top 2 applications and send them to VNU and VNU-HCM for consideration of the applications and recommendation of students to NUS.
Students nominated by VNU-HCM submit online registration applications at https://myapplications.nus.edu.sg. from March 21 to April 15, 2024.
