On the morning of October 12th, at the Center of National Defense and Security Education, the university organized the Opening Ceremony of the Training and Sports Competition for the self-defense forces from its affiliated units under the VNUHCM.
Associate Professor and Doctor Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNUHCM, Commander of the VNUHCM Military Command, stated that the Party and the State's policy towards the national defense work for the entire nation is pivotal and consistent.
Students and self-defense forces are integral components of the national defense forces. Therefore, the education on national defense and security for students and the training for self-defense forces are vital tasks that must be executed systematically.
"When the country needs, the systematic training and education will enable students and self-defense forces to be ready to participate," stated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan.
During this training session, in addition to the specified content, 106 members of the VNUHCM self-defense forces will be equipped with knowledge about information security, cybersecurity, and non-traditional security.
The military training will focus on activities such as live ammunition firing, troop parades, grenade throwing, disassembling and assembling AK submachine guns, among others.
The training and sports program is managed by the officers of the Center of National Defense and Security Education, and will take place from October 12th to October 18th.
