UIT and III (Taiwan): Opening Up Numerous Opportunities in the Semiconductor Industry at "Taiwan Semiconductor Job and Study Fair 2025"
The "Taiwan Semiconductor Job and Study Fair 2025," organized by the University of Information Technology (UIT), Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Institute for Information Industry (III) from Taiwan, was successfully held on May 8, 2025. The event attracted significant attention from UIT students and students from nearby universities in the region.
An Informational Event That Connects
The event was not just an information fair but also a strategic bridge, introducing students to advanced technological developments, exciting career opportunities, and high-quality academic programs at leading universities and companies in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. As a global industry leader, Taiwan holds a prominent position in the semiconductor field. Therefore, early access to information and opportunities from Taiwan is crucial for future information technology engineers. The event met the dual needs of students: exploring promising career opportunities and discovering prestigious graduate programs to enhance their professional expertise.
Not simply a sharing session, the "Taiwan Semiconductor Job and Study Fair 2025" attracted 8 tech companies and 4 renowned universities from Taiwan to UIT for direct job interviews. This provided an excellent opportunity for UIT students to engage directly with companies, learn more about corporate culture, recruitment requirements, and specialized training programs in semiconductor technology.
Participating Companies:
Institute For Information Industry (III), Taiwan Electronic Equipment Industry Association (TEEIA), Realtek Semiconductor, Silicon Motion, United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC), ASML Technology Taiwan Ltd., Ardentec Corporation, Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASE).
Participating Universities:
National Taiwan University (NTU), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU).
At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Đức Lung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, warmly welcomed the Taiwanese partners and emphasized UIT’s respect for Taiwan’s leading position in the global semiconductor map. He also highlighted that Taiwanese partners are strategic allies in UIT’s international cooperation activities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Đức Lung also outlined the strong development directions for Vietnam, VNU-HCM, and especially UIT in the semiconductor field. This illustrates UIT’s proactive approach to global technological trends and its commitment to training high-quality human resources, ready to meet the needs of this critical industry. He expressed confidence in the vast potential for cooperation and the valuable opportunities the event presented for UIT, students, and Taiwanese partners.
Despite the event's limited timeframe, the "Taiwan Semiconductor Job and Study Fair 2025" made a significant impression with a record participation of nearly 300 students from UIT and nearby universities. This demonstrates the appeal of the semiconductor industry and the credibility of the participating entities. Notably, more than 130 students registered and participated in direct interviews during the event, an impressive number that reflects the enthusiasm and eagerness of young people to seize opportunities. This success not only reflects the quality of the event but also signals positive progress in preparing future engineers.
Trương Công Thành, a 4th-year Computer Engineering student, shared, "For me, today’s event is very meaningful. It allows students to interact with companies and explore new job opportunities, helping us understand where we stand and the available career paths. I also participated in interviews with several companies and received valuable advice on defining clear goals and how to present future plans more effectively. I realized that I should not just participate for the experience but to take the opportunity seriously."
The "Taiwan Semiconductor Job and Study Fair 2025" may have concluded, but it has undoubtedly opened many doors for cooperation between UIT and Taiwanese businesses and universities in the semiconductor field specifically, and in information and communication technology in general. UIT will continue to strive to bring high-quality international cooperation programs, supporting students on their journey to conquer technological heights.
