Opening Ceremony of WeCode Challenge 2024

The Opening Ceremony of WeCode Challenge 2024 took place at Hall E, University of Information Technology (UIT), on Saturday morning, March 30, 2024, with the participation of Associate Professor Do Van Tien - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, and over 90 teams from various faculty of UIT.

WeCode Challenge is an annual algorithm programming competition for first-year students at UIT. In this competition, teams collaborate to solve a variety of problems using basic programming languages. Each challenge is built upon the foundational knowledge from core courses such as Introduction to Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms, accessible via the WeCode platform.

Participants receive commemorative gifts (yoyos, contestant cards) and have the opportunity to earn recognition for Academic Excellence - one of the 5 criteria for the Student 5 Excellence Award, achieved by solving 2 out of 5 questions. Additionally, UIT students participating in the competition engage in networking, sharing experiences, and showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and programming abilities throughout the challenges.

The total prize pool for WeCode Challenge amounts to nearly 4,000,000 Vietnamese Dong:

  • First Prize: 1,500,000 Vietnamese Dong.
  • Second Prize: 1,000,000 Vietnamese Dong.
  • Third Prize: 500,000 Vietnamese Dong.
  • 5 prizes for "Fastest Completion for Each Question": 100,000 Vietnamese Dong per question.
